Yay! Time to Garden in the Midwest again :)

Its chilly in Wisconsin today. Around 55, with a chill wind.

However, there is good news in the garden. Rhubarb has returned, double in size. Mint and Forget-me-Knots are back...yay!

Planted Snow Peas, and they are shooting their little green heads above the soil. Tomorrow planting lettuce seeds.  They both love the chill.

Next week, it will be broccoli and tomatoes, and zucchini.....Maybe I will plant herbs for cooking also.

I've been working on the garden too. I have onions, carrots, radishes, jalapenos, kohlrabi, and potatoes in.  Waiting a little while for the ground to warm up to put in the beans and tomatoes. Its a wonderful time of the year.

I can't wait to get my flowers planted... I just moved to my new house in February, so I am excited to make it PRETTY!!

We have tomato and pepper plants that are blooming.  Still waiting for the weather to dry up enough to put them in the ground.  They are doing so well in the buckets, they may stay there this year!

I started some tomato seeds off in the house a few weeks ago whilst there was some frost outside and they were doing well until I planted them into the garden. I know one is supposed to place them outside gradually, perhaps for just a few hours a day, in order that they can adjust to the extremes in exposure, however I decided to plant them straight outside and now I'm paying for it. My plants seemed to get stunted. Their leaves turned weathered and their growth halted. Since I planted the baby plants outside we have had wind and hot temperatures. In the last couple of days I have noticed some new leaves coming through, which look bright and green, so I'm hoping they will make it.

I just started my garden this week (excited) but I hope to plant my green beans soon.  Waiting on the sun.

The snow peas are coming up (Woo-Hoo!), and planted lettuce today, twice.

Planted lettuce in the garden, and in a seed pod in my Aero Garden.  Lettuce growing inside and out.

Man, those lettuce seeds are soooo small and skinny.  hard to control.

My husband has gone nuts over gardening now that we have a home instead of an apartment.  He's landscaping like a mad man.  Planting flowers, moving bulbs.  I don't have much interest in it since I don't have much time available to dedicate to what beds need.  I wish he would do herbs and veggies... but he's all about making it look good.

I'm glad it's time to garden again. We picked up a honeysuckle and some pansies. We also purchased a lilac root that's really taking off. We might go back for another lilac that's grown in a little more. Don't think you could ever have too many lilacs.
