car insurance

we have State Farm and its a good company. My husband hit the back of a truck yeah, falling asleep at the wheel. Well they claimed 800.00 damages and S.F. paid without raising our premiums. So have to give a thumbs up for that.

State Farm is a good insurance company, i had them for years while living in the city on my own.  But now i have AARP. Cheaper by far. Of course at my age i don't drive all over the country like i used too. Kind of miss it though. But i live in the smae county now as my brother and dad, so don't have to drive a long ways to see them.

Yikes. I would be more concerned about falling asleep at the wheel than my car insurance rates!

That's great that they did not ratejack you though. I got my first ticket in 15 years (speeding) and my rates doubled!

Been with State Farm for 42 years ever since I started driving.  My husband just got a speeding ticket so I call them and they informed me our rates do not going up for speeding tickets only for accidents.  Boy is my husband lucky!!! :)

Good to know....I might consider switching...I have used MetLife for years, but just compared rates and State Farm seems less expensive

I've been using Geico for 10 years and haven't had a problem with them at all. They have taken care of some big issues for us and our rates haven't gone up.

Whenever someone is tired while driving, it is best to pull over  somewhere and get a few zees. About insurance: Recently I needed to get lower rates than STATE FARM as they raised my  rates, even though I had no accidents! While online, I found a relatively new insurance company called METROMILE. If you don't drive very much, and need lower rates, this is a good company to go with. My rates for the last 2 months have been under $18.00!  It works by giving you a bass monthly rate plus the miles you drive. They send a plug in device to you. Once it is plugged into your vehicle, it calculates the miles you drive. That's what you get charged for. NOTE: Metromile is not operating in all states at this time. However, it is gradually expanding. GO METROMILE!

to add my husband retired soon after his driving problem of being so tired from a long commute. One thing also about insurance for young people they are correct about them being new and not so good drivers. my daughter hit a parked car soon after she started to drive. Caused damage to both our car and the innocent car just sitting there, her insurance went way up but she id have a job.She has been a good driver ever since.
