Feeling Down

Today I am feeling down. Life can be so hard some times especially when you are a single mom. To make matters worst, all I keep seeing and hearing are negative things. it helps me when I find a motivational speaker [online videos].
there are short 30 minute stories called "adventures in odyssey" that are nice for children to listen to.
you may even enjoy them.

It helps me to force myself to be productive, and then reward myself for that productivity. Some down time with a book or lots of chocolate -- something like that. There are a few books out there that help, too: 100 Ways to Happiness, and Five Good Minutes. I was reading those last summer but never finished them and I know I need to! Hope you feel better!  :)

I am sorry you are feeling down. May I suggest trying to focus on a gratitude list. It may help to focus on the positive. As someone else mentioned, listening to music is a mood enhancer and will help you feel much better than things like the negativity in the news. Good luck.

I am sorry you are feeling down, but may I suggest to not watch news/media just find a good movie or a show that will lift your spirit, think pretty thoughts and hope you feel better soon, life is to precious for us to be thinking bad thoughs and been down, think of your children, everything will be OK

Stop watching/listening to the media. You can control what you listen to. Try to find some positive movies, videos (YouTube is great for this!), or books to fill your mind with.

I agree with this:   Stop watching the news.       There is nothing you can do about it, so why have to listen to it.   I stopped listening/watching the news after 9-11...   I was listening to the news on the way to work & there was three different stories of babies that were killed.. I had enough.   I still read about it on Bing, & listen to actual people discussing it,  I am not out of the loop, I just don't waste my time listening to all that negativity...  the only thing I can control is what I surround my environment with, choose good vibes & cut the negativity out.   News just focuses on fear & drama, & seriously. there is nothing you can do to change it.   People changing their facebook profile picture to a flag of whatever country the terrorist hit,  wearing plastic wristbands for whatever cause... all does nothing.  Okay, I am aware, now what....

I am not a single mom, but I do know what it's like to have depression. When I was in my twenties my best friend at work died of an illness and I was so shocked. I couldn't control the downward spiral of depression which took over my life for a whole year. I would feel slightly more optimistic during the day, but then as the sun went down, so did my fight for survival. All I began to see was the sad side of life, illness, crime, tragedy. It affected my physical and emotional being. It wasn't until I started to eat healthier, got some exercise, took a vacation and made some different life choices that I started to see some light at the end of the tunnel. It took many months until I was able to see the world as a better place. There are so many good people in the world. To you I would recommend switching the tv programs off which make you sad, until a time when you are not affected by them. After all, you have to survive until you are in a place where you can live again. You will get there. God bless you.

Get on Youtube and type-in TedX and go to that channel. Then find whatever interests you. You'll be glad you did.
