Just heard on tv that Prince just died at his estate.  That was all that was said.

That's sad. He was a genuine talent that, much like Michael Jackson, came across a bit weird. RIP Prince.

I know, isn't this just shocking!  I appreciate he is a celebrity and with most celebrities they have struggles with drugs and alcoholism, but I understand this was not the case with Prince. He didn't do drugs or alcoholism, he didn't even allow bad language on stage. To our knowledge he was in good health, other than a spell of flu which seemed to go on for a few weeks. He was out at the weekend cycling to Walgreens. He performed at a concert just a matter of a few days ago. He didn't die in his bed with tubes and breathing apparatus attached to him. He died in an elevator which suggests he felt well enough to go in an elevator unattended.  I suspect the medical examiner will get to the bottom of this. In the meantime, I am hugely shocked.

You know you're getting old when too many musicians you used to listen to start dropping like flies.  I really liked Prince.  I was shocked to hear the news this morning because he was only 57.  I guess we'll eventually find out what the cause of death was, but nonetheless, the doves are definitely crying today.  RIP, Prince.

I read where it was complications from the flu.

Sad news indeed.  I remember when he did the Super Bowl Half time show & he was getting interviewed & he answered all the questions in guitar riffs.... lol

RIP Prince

Wow 57 years old, still too young.

I didn't really know his music, but sad indeed...seems like a weird circumstance...no drugs/alcohol, etc....RIP...seems like we're losing lots of artists/celebrities this year...

I agree. Anybody famous who died so far this year that I heard of longer ago had at least a little meaning to me. I think Prince died at an age that would be considered yound nowadays (57).
