Career advice
« on: April 11, 2016, 08:01:55 am »
I've graduated with an Associates in Business Administration. I'm currently 10 classes away from a Bachelors with management major and HR minor in Business Administration. I've babysat, virtual assistant for a year and a half at one company, and two years as a freelancer. I'm wanting to gain an hourly compensation instead of fixed prices. I'm happy with my freelancing career but overall I still want / need hourly compensation. I can't afford to finish my Bachelors yet. I know more experience would be best. I've been applying but haven't been hired yet.

any suggestions? advice?

I have seen many people gain insight into future careers by going through temporary agencies. I wish that I had gone that route instead of jumping into banking. I took a banking job, at a low hourly rate, when I was a sophomore in college. I moved up quickly and was a floating Branch manager by the time I graduated and a vice president by age twenty six. I opened two locations for the second largest bank in the country and then had a two year stint as a manager with the largest bank in the country. Real estate was my forte and I did well opening four corporations within that industry until the market dropped. I took a temp position within an unrelated field and that has led to the great day time job I have today. I still work with Banks in my evening position and enjoy it but I never want to have to count on Banks again.

You could certainly get a loan to finish your degree.  Regardless, you just have to pick a path for yourself, but do it with conviction.  Choose a path that you truly believe is best for you and make it happen.
