I need help

I just received a text on my phone from (whats app) from a female.  It is a very sexual explicit text.  I have already reported it as SPAM.  There has got to be some where else I can report this.  People should not be allowed to send sexual stuff to MY phone.

My question - do any of you know where I can report this to and get something done.  Although I am sure the trash will just set up another account I would like to get this account shut down.  And further texts, I would probably consider legal action.

That is really gross.  I'm not sure but can you report this to the police?  I know this is a text, but it came through your phone, I assume you have do no call list on it.  Try going to the website, they might have a phone number where you can contact them toreport something.  Good luck, that's really disgusting.

First of all, you can't really know if it was a male or a female if you just went by the name they gave. Second, I don't think there is anyway on earth to stop hackers from hacking. I had to close down my Twitter account once because when I opened it, it was filled with p-o-r-n (hyphenated for the censorship). I have since reopened my account and haven't had any problems, but you never know.

The police haven't got the time or the resources to combat this problem. They don't even have time to investigate accidents or thefts. It's a crying shame. I know this from previous experiences. I'm not blaming them, but it's sad.

This could have happened to one of your bank accounts, so it seems like the lesser of two evils.

Of course, I'm sorry it happened. It's so upsetting. But that's the way the world goes now.

I am sorry to hear that too. There is no way to stop those type messages except do not open it. I usually look if it's someone who is not on my contact list, I wouldn't open them. I just erased them w/out opening or reading them. if you want to pursue more legal actions maybe hire a lawyer?

I can know if it was male or female.  It was a woman.  I know by what she said.  It is not a hacker.  It's pretty much the same as people who call random numbers ignoring the do not call list.  I googled the number and there are a lot of people complaining and saying they received basically the same thing I did.  Just makes me mad.  There should be a way to go after the actual person who is doing it.  Could very well be sending to a kid.  As a matter of fact one of the people who have complained said her young daughter received the same junk that I did.

I get 15 emails in my spam box a day from that whatsapp thing. I never open them. I wish someone would shut that BS down.

As for the phone thing, I have no idea. Sorry. I have straighttalk and cannot even block texts from people I know, much less random numbers. Maybe contact your carrier?

Is this a new number for you? Maybe that person was trying to contact the previous owner of your number. But it is awful to receive something like that to your phone.

There should be a law against that stuff and a way to get it to stop!

There should be a way to block that number, I doubt its worth sueing someone over its just junk mail stuff.

If you do go to the police first, ask them questions. Than watch the How the Internet Ruined My Life. All of us need techs. or go to one of your phone store they may help. Really get true proof and witnesses.

Emails are different.  I can block them or send them straight to spam.  My carrier can't do anything.  They just say to forward the message to them and report it as spam.    If our government were such P***ys stuff like this could be stopped.  Other countries don't put up with this kind of crap.  People are actually punished for stuff.

No.  I have had this number for at least 20 years.

I know I can't sue them.  All they would have to say is it was an accident.  Wrong number.  Although tons of people have received the same message.  Looks like what's app could shut them down.  But they don't care.

The police can't do anything.  And would not do anything.  This isn't ruining my life.  Just makes me mad.  I thought maybe somebody knew someone else to report it to other than my carrier.  The phone store where I bought the phone can do absolutely nothing about it.   I have all the proof I need.  I have or had the message.  Not sure how I could have a witness.  I had the message on my phone.  I forwarded it to SPAM with my carrier.  I may try to contact whats app and report the number to them.
