What are some of your favorite Easter traditions? Even down to the food you eat?

My favorite Easter tradition is eating with family, it doesn't much matter what we eat, it's always good. I do love hard boiled eggs though.

I don't have any favorite traditions from recent years, but I do recall when I was a young girl making an easter scene of the three crosses at Calvery which we all did at Sundayschool. I used moss to cover the ground and made a hill and then placed a cross made out of twigs on top of the hill. In the background was a cave entrance with a rock in front of it which was rolled to one side. I stuck on a few primroses outside the cave which for me, resembled new life. I so enjoyed making the easter scene that I remember it to this day.

Easter tradition is about having family over. Having nieces/nephews and kids decorate and do egg hunting. Having carne asada at a park.

GROWing up I liked coloring eggs and having an Easter egg hunt. Now that my nieces and nephews are past the coloring  eggs and having egg hunts. I loving having easter dinner with all of them. I like traditional foods but am not a fan of lamb but I do love  ham. Every easter dinner must have something chocolate! :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

I enjoying going to sunrise services, but our church will have it at 8 a.m. so that will be as close as I get.  Often we have had Easter with my family but this year they will be gone. so  who knows maybe we will just go for a drive and be by ourselves.  It is sometimes nice just  the peace and quite. Or I may have my stepfather  in . Who knows I guess I should decide here in the next couple of days.

Another favorite Easter tradition I recall from my childhood days was painting and decorating chicken eggs! We would make a tiny hole in one end of the egg, then the other end, and blow the egg out (so that the final masterpiece was a keeper and not a smelly ornament). We would then paint the egg, perhaps something scenic, perhaps a pretty pattern, some of the girls would bedazzle their eggs! Some of my friends made the eggs into little egg-men by attaching home-made shoes or eyeballs! I remember making mine into a a little chicken. I stuck on some real feathers - it looked really cute when I finished.

My hometown always has a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt in the City Park.  When we were kids, the kids were allowed to ride the firetruck to the park.

I don't know the number of eggs the city hides in the park, but it is A LOT!  Eggs are everywhere.

They also paint 12 of them GOLD.  The lucky kids who find the golden eggs get their picture in the paper and a small prize.

We go to church Good Friday and Easter morning, color Easter eggs on Saturday, and have relatives over for dinner on Easter Sunday.

My favorite Easter traditions are painting eggs with my children and planting new flowers to give thanks to the Goddess Ostara. I love watching the kids hunt for Easter eggs around the house and folling their treasure maps to find them. Cooking a big dinner with help from the kids. Then at the end of the day, the whole family sits down to a yummy meal and gives thanks to the new season.
