memories
« on: March 13, 2016, 10:52:24 am »
memories of the past help us in our present situations.
the solutions were there for us and always will be.
I remember visiting my grandma for weekends sometimes.
To be a part of her daily life was special.
Mom and dad sent my sister for a trip to the east coast to stay with my aunt and uncle.
there were times when the three of us girls were a handful.

My memories of my dad helps me through the hard times and tough decisions.  I always think; "what would daddy do or say if he were alive today?"

Ahh, you can always rely on your dad to help you see sense and brighten the moment. I recall my sister worrying about a situation which might present itself where people would be looking at her and making judgement. My father told her to hold her head up, and wear her silk head scarf and dark sunglasses with pride! It made us all laugh, especially my sister who had been struggling to see a bright side. My dad passed away about 6 years ago but the memories are as strong as ever. My sisters and I recollect how funny my dad was, and most of the time he did not know how funny he was. He loved having an audience and my sisters and I were always in the front row watching. Sweet memories.

Some memories are good, some are bad, and some don't exist.  I have no memories of my father, he was killed in an accident when I was very little.  The memories of my mother were mixed.  I knew she loved me (even though I can't ever remember her telling me that), but I knew she didn't like me. She always preferred my sister and would admit that.
