I recently just got a call from a Nebraska number.... Since I too won't answer if I don't know the number, I was a little surprised when they actually left a message. In the message, the man claimed that he was from the IRS, that my recent tax return had some errors but that there was still time to fix it were I to call that number. Although the message could be entirely legit, I have not called that number back since I think it's a scam: a) I'm woefully slow in doing my taxes that I haven't done them yet so I don't know what "return" he's talking about, b) I wouldn't expect the call from the IRS to come from Nebraska, esp. considering that that is not where I send in my returns, and c) I wouldn't expect the IRS to call me about a possible mistake in my tax return; they'd either just take out more taxes if the error was minor or would go through an audit for a larger issue.

Ripoff artists come in many fashion don't comply with them and some get really annoyed as in point in case in this situation of the poster of this topic. Let them get annoyed its fun hearing them go off

One of those Windows tech scams... I got in the habit of not picking up any phone calls unless I know who is calling or expecting a call... If it is important it will go to voice mail... I know some youtubers and twitch streamers troll them and go along with the scam

There are so many con artists out there doing the same thing.  Yet they get mad when you don't fall for all the BS.  Online, I have had men to connect with me and say they are glad my name was so and so because there is money in a bank with the same name and would I do something really dumb to get the money.  There are so many men using the same script and I tell them there doesn't seem to be any intelligent person using the same script with their BS.  I even had a woman reading from the same script.  I told her that as a woman she should be smarter than that and to get lost scum.

i love to mess with those idiots also teh ones who send me lotto winnings from forigen companies. I try to keep them on the line and annoy them ...

This happen most of the time at my house I usually just prank them making it so they stay on the line and wasting their time.
