I have been driving now for 30 years. In that time I have not technically been pulled over, but there was one occasion a few weeks ago when I had pulled off the road to drop my kids off at school. I didn't realise I should not have been parking on the opposite side of the road to the school because it meant that my kids had to cross the road to get to school where there was no crossing guard.  Anyhow, a cop on a motorbike pulled up alongside my parked car and asked if I was dropping off kids. I said "Yes" and then asked if there was a problem. He explained my error and I apologised immediately and said that was my mistake and it wouldn't happen again. He said that was fine, if I could just remember for next time. On reflection, although there was apparently a sign about the parking which I totally missed, it would have been helpful to have a colored curb. I saw no colored curb and so thought I was ok to part there. Anyway, the point is, I was polite and apologetic and the cop was very informative and forgiving! I got away with just some friendly advice. How good is that?

I've been driving for 20 years. Pulled over 6 times, got a ticket two of those times. The last one was eleven years ago!

Pretty good.  Most of them are pretty nice if you are nice to them.  I had one get hateful with me but he still didn't write me a ticket.  He was a very angry man. lol.

I would think if you said anything like "please don't write me a ticket" it could be used against you and construed entirely differently than you would like so my advice would be to say nothing!

I was pulled over once as a teenager, but wasn't given a ticket.  I was given a warning and told to attend a safe driving course.  I was stopped for speeding, turned out the course was about everything from adjusting your mirrors to how to safely buckle a child car seat, not a word about driving faster than the speed limit.  At least it got me from having a ticket on my record though!

I was pulled over once when I was in my 20's for speeding. I sure hate giving my money away so I have never had that happen again. Can't say the same for my speed demon hubby.

I've been pulled over twice in my life. Each time it was for speeding. I did get the tickets. I've never asked them not to give me the ticket.

I think what ever is right is right, even they don't have camera, it is still not right to tell the officers what to do. I think they carry the camera just in case if the case is being sue.

The last time I was pulled over was for speeding.  And I was.
I had pulled a double shift the day before, from 6am to 11pm, and then pulled my regular shift that day, from 6 to 3.
I made the bank deposit and was on my way back to the store to drop off paperwork.

Just driving along, country road, thinking how much I wanted to be home when I spotted the cop. Took my foot off the gas pedal, and thought, "Oh man, you're in it now."

Cop stopped me, asked me if I knew I was doing 72 in a 40mph zone.

Before I even thought, I said, "Ha! I must have seen you first, because I was doing 86 when I spotted you!"

He did a double-take, and started laughing.

No ticket, after I explained to him what was going on.  Just told me to go home and get some rest.
He walked away chuckling and shaking his head.

I hate getting pulled over.  It gives me such anxiety.  I try never to do anything to be pulled over but it happens.  I just try to be polite even though I'm very nervous anyway...

I have been pulled over twice. Once was not my fault and i fought and won in court. The other was my fault but was able to reduce the ticket by attending a driving course.
