Do, pets have different taste's

My 2 cats do, i noticed cuz both are opposites from each other. Splat likes salty foods/treats & kind of turn her nose to sweets.Shadow on the other hand likes sweets, lost pit of strawberry ice cream to this cat too!Drinking habits are different too, shadow goes to the water bowel more often & splat, less often but when she does she, takes a long time drinking.

yes, my dog doesn't eat anything

yes, I have 2 cats that love "raw food" (the dehydrated & freeze dried raw foods, extremely rare cooked meats) and some fresh foods, and one cat that would rather starve than touch it.  The same two cats rarely nap & have energy to burn, while the other naps ALOT.   

All three act more like dogs, than cats.  (I think because all three as kittens spent alot of two years with my dog while I worked alot.)

our stray cat that took up at our house doesnt like human foods at all..and prefers dry food over canned food...doesnt like milk prefers water...i think someone may have been mean to him because he is very skittish around anyone..follows my husband around like a dog does...will let me pet him but will not let me hold him...he sits on my husband constantly..

Well, I'm not a veterinarian, but my guess is that they are the same as humans. For instance, I give my dog dry dog food every day, and he eats it but is not in a huge rush to get to his dinner bowl and will happily wait for an hour before going to the kitchen to see what's in his dinner bowl. Now, if I'm cooking bacon, he will wait in the kitchen to see if I drop anything on the floor. So, if all food tastes the same to him, why bother waiting in the kitchen for scraps as bacon would taste the same as his dry dog food. And if his dry dog food tasted like bacon, wouldn't he be sat beside his bowl waiting for his bacon-flavored dry dog food? So I conclude, he has taste buds!

Yes. My pets have very different preferences. My parrot like bird seed and human food. My fish only eat fish food.

We have sister cats and they are as different as night and day.  One eats very sparingly and really truth be told only likes canned food but she will eat crunchy if that is all she can get.  She too likes sweets and will try to eat muffin crumbs at breakfast.  She likes to drink out of the sink.  The other one will eat anything and everything including trying to eat pine needles that people bring in on their feet.  She drinks out of the water dish but then she is too fat to jump up on the sink lol.

Yes my  has her likes. When my  shows me her dislikes, it looks like she threw-up a little in her mouth or she tries to bury it like it should be in her litter box, and never ever try to force it because she don't forget for a while  . I change out the dry food brands, I offer her different flav's in the wet foods and treats. I love my  spoiled.

All animals have different personalities. At one point I had a yard full of probably 20 stray cats. Not all of them liked the same foods or behaved the same when they saw food. Some would literally be scratching at the back door excited for dry food and a few would only eat table scraps

I have only had a few pets over my lifetime but I imagine all animals are somewhat individual, just like people.  An animal family will have their tendencies and generalities, but there are always exceptions.
