Weather forecast was right for a change - oops. No it wasn't!
« on: January 23, 2016, 11:30:24 am »
First they said we would get 2 feet when this storm first developed. They kept revising it downward until  yesterday, it was down to 6". Hubby didn't bother getting the snowblower out of the shed because the forecasts have never been right all winter.

It has been snowing constantly since 7 p.m. last night and we have 20" on the ground. It's still snowing heavily and they're stating we have a long way to go...well...if that's the case, we're liable to be hitting 3 FEET by the time this is over.  This is the first biggie since 1996 when we had 3 feet. Back then, we had to hand shovel our 1000 ft driveway, 100 ft. porch to driveway and another 25 ft to the garage. Hubby bought a snow blower a few days later. LOL

He has now decided to shovel a path from the porch to the shed which is halfway down the driveway, to get the snowblower and now he's cleaning the driveway and even the porch because that wasn't spared from the snow.

They have been predicting 12-18 here and they are right on target. Be careful shoveling.

They were saying 6 to 12.  Guess they were a little off, we got 32 inches!

Our forecasts were correct for the entire week - until yesterday when they changed it completely. They were off by, well, all the inches they suggested. We hardly got a dusting up here.

I don't pay attention to what the weather people predict... they are so wrong most of the time you are better off just guessing it yourself.

Weather forecast is usually 95% right for me... One time when I was commuting from college I looked at the weather in my phone in the morning... Cloudy in the afternoon and light rain in late evening... By the time I got off my train at 3, there was a downpour of rain for about 20 mins... Was soaking wet when I got home without an umbrella... Good news is that there was light rain at the afternoon
