Do you like fig newton cookies?

I always had eaten fig newton cookies since I was a kid. Do you remember when you ate your first one? Do you make this cookie into your own recipe you want to share? I like just to eat them and still do. Have a gr8 day

Oh boy do I have a story with fig Newters.  I did NOT like them one bit.  Being a naughty teen I snuck out to go drinking with my friends.  I came home looking for something to eat... everyone told me if you eat something before you go to bed you won't have as bad a hang over.  So I reached for fig newtons.  I ate a whole strip of them.  At some point between passing out and becoming fully aware of what was going on... I had diarrhea as well as vomiting from all the alcohol.  Since then I've only had one fig newton.  I do love the apple, raspberry and blueberry version.  Perhaps I should give the fig newton a fare try now that I'm older.

like fig newton from childhood. Thanks for reminding me might get some today at Walmart.Also like pinwheels but paid 5.69 for them didin't like that.

When I was a kid (I am 72 now), fig newtons were so yummy. You could taste the figs.

Once in a while, for sentimental reasons, I buy a pkg. However, now they seem to be kinda stale, and the yummy fig has lost seomething over the years.

But boy oh boy they were gooood.

When we were kids  my grandpa always showed up with a package of fig newton's for us. It was always a treat. Mom never bought them for us. she thought  we might get tired of them. Of course we never did.  I buy them once in a while as a treat. Hubby will eat them all. No he shares  a few for me and he eats the rest. They don't taste quite the same without grandpa buying them. I like the other flavors too.  But I make most of our sweets from scratch. that way I can control what goes into them.

I still like fig newton, bought some yesterday.....even after hearing that the crunch you hear every now and then are cockroaches , not sure I believe that though.
