You all need to double up on your calcium intake, as of yesterday.

That shrinking problem is due to your bones losing density. Yikes!!  :'(

You're right!  So instead of the POISON "Fosamax," I decided to start taking 600 mg Calcium, which includes Vitamin D3, 400 IU.  Unfortunately, not even Calcium/Vit. D3 will "change" what's already happened, but it will prevent it from getting any worse.

Good girl. You've been reading and getting smart.

I forgot to mention Vitamin D3. I've been advised to take 2,000 IUs per day by a doctor and a physician's assistant. Sounds like a lot, but when I take a blood test to test my Vitamin D levels, I'm given a prescription for 50,000 IUs for 12 weeks at a time.

That really sounds like a lot, but I don't want any fractures happening. Those small fractures in your back can produce that stooped position that some women experience.  :sad1:

BTW, bone loss can be stopped and even reversed. Exercise is essential. Also people who stop drinking things like coffee, soda, alcohol and caffeine stop significant bone loss. Calcium dosage should be about 1500 mg.
