Christmas is Giving Me A Headache

Sorry to hear, but I agree, I'll be ready for the holidays to be over and the new year to start!

You know, you and I are on the same page, although are at different stages of our lives. I just have two kids, but buying presents for them gets increasingly more difficult every year not least because we seem to be in a worse financial state every year! I remember when I was a young girl reaching an age where I didn't receive gifts from my aunts and uncles or grandparents anymore. In the moment I was disappointed, but I quickly got over it. Now that I am a parent, I appreciate that the best things about Christmas are not the gifts, it is the family time, everybody is off school and work and we all just relax and spend time together. Perhaps the kids might be disappointed that there will be no gifts from wider relations, but they'll get over it. After all, some kids don't get any presents at all.

Christmas always give me a headache.  I will be glad when it is over.

Then WHY celebrate it?  Why not just live your life as normal and don't acknowledge the holiday at all?  I hear so many people say that and I just don't get it.  If you hate the holidays then stay in your own world and don't be a downer to every one else.

I'm already done with the holidays...and this year for that matter.

So what will change in January that will make everything better?  Just curious?

I will finish my shopping tomorrow thank goodness. This shopping season got here to fast for me.
