Help with a computer problem?
« on: December 08, 2015, 01:05:23 pm »
Two days ago the audio on my computer quit working for certain things on my computer. I can hear music and sound from games, and I can hear the ding when I turn my volume up and down, but I can't hear anything on youtube, nor on babbel, and I can't hear the notification ding for Facebook messages. I'm tried using the troubleshooter on my computer but it didn't say anything was wrong, and I looked at the Device Manager on my computer to see if there was something wrong with the sound card but found nothing. What could be causing this?

I don't think it's your audio. Check the sites that you are on, such as YouTube ... it has it's own volume and some times muted. Also with facebook, go into settings to check the notification settings. It's probably something so easy to fix. Let me know how you make out.

You can also check your internet settings, some browsers can turn off audio from pages. Also, for Windows OS, check the volume mixer... Click on the volume in the system tray, click on Mixer, and in that window all of the programs that have audio will be listed; check that your browser's volume isn't muted.

That worked! It looks like my browser was muted, although I dunno how that happened! Thank you.
