TV Special "Racing Extinction"
« on: December 03, 2015, 02:37:14 pm »
If you are curious and interested in the status of our planet, you MUST watch this show.  I was in tears at several points, like when the song/call of the the last bird of a species was heard and they said it would never be answered by a female.  All others were extinct and when this bird died, it was the end!  Learn about our oceans and the many animal species which are close to extinction.  Learn how the planet's large cattle industry is actually contributing to destroying the planet.  Learn about the role of plankton in our lives and how without it we may not be here long.  My God, it makes you think.
Do one little thing to save our planet as it is.  Give up meat/dairy one day a week, drink less bottled water, carpool, think about buying an electric car, support green energy and less fossil fuel, etc. Support and practice birth control because there are going to be too many people for the limited resources. If we continue, the planet will be unrecognizable in about 50 years.
Saying you will be dead and gone is no excuse.  Is irresponsible and egotistical.  Shame on you if that was your thought! Watch "Racing Extinction."  Let's value our environment NOW!

I watched that show. I thought the sea was warming up I didn't realize it could be turning acidity. We all should of do the change hundreds of years ago and maybe it's already too late. When I had my first child, people told me the world is becoming too crowded and stay with only one child and ask for me to tie my tubes. I have friends said that they weren't going to bring a child into this world on how the condition is in, and they don't. My kids told me they wasn't going to have any kids. What are they going to do with the gas bags on the cows. This is a scary movie and I wish everyone to watch it, maybe to become aware.

Yes! We must take care of ourselves and others. Or we are doomed.

It was on Discovery and I think you can also find it through On Demand.

Don't listen to people that tell you to stop having children. They are wrong. It's none of their business how many children you choose to have. It's between you, your significant other, and God. I'm appalled that they suggest you get your tubes tied. Who are these people?  :o

If you research population growth, you will find that the rate of global population growth has slowed. And it’s expected to keep slowing. According to many "experts’ best estimates, the total population of Earth will stop growing within the lifespan of people alive today.

And then it will fall.

This is a counterintuitive notion in the United States, where we’ve heard often and loudly that world population growth is a perilous and perhaps unavoidable threat to our future as a species. But population decline is a very familiar concept in the rest of the developed world, where fertility has long since fallen far below the 2.1 live births per woman required to maintain population equilibrium.
"

The above quote is taken from an internet source from Slate, New America, and ASU. There are many sources that totally agree with this concept.

From Pew Research Center: "As a result of declining fertility rates, global population growth is slowing. Over the four decades from 1970 to 2010, the number of people on Earth grew nearly 90%. From 2010 to 2050, the world’s population is expected to rise 35%, from roughly 7 billion to more than 9 billion.

Among the world’s major religious groups, Muslims have the highest Total Fertility Rate as of 2010-2015, a global average of 3.1 children per woman. This is one of the main reasons why the Muslim population is expected to grow not only in absolute numbers but also in relative terms – as a percentage of all the people in the world – in the decades to come.

Christians (2.7 children per woman) are the only other major religious group whose Total Fertility Rate, on a worldwide basis, exceeds the average for all women (2.5), during the present five-year period (2010-2015)."

Now I could also comment on the video scaring you, but I'll save that for another time.  :-X Your comment on wondering what they're going to do with the 'gas bags on the cows' is beyond my comprehension
:confused1:

Every time I fly on an airplane and see all that vacant expanse under me, I think about the ingenuity of man in combination with the help of God turning all that into plenty of resource for all the souls he wants to send down here. I don't believe in killing babies at any stage of their existence or even before that point when so many couples would do anything to have one to raise.

Wow, my post was NOT about abortion, Christianity, fertility, or any particular group for that matter but the planet as a whole.  The point is that there are already enough people who are not paying attention to the limited, finite resources of the earth, including animal species, and if we don't do something now, the world is going to be a far different place for our children and grandchildren.  Get it?

The earth will stand forever inhabited like it was supposed to be.

Ruin will be brought to those ruining it!!

If you owned a house and rented it out and they ruined it on you wouldnt you get rid of them and look for justice?

How mch more so on this grand scale?
