how to I thank someone?

Look to the left, under the name of the person you want to thank, and click where it says {say thanks}.

That should do it.

It's right under where it say Newbie, posts, thanked:0x in parenthesis [say thanks] is how it appears.

I guess I don't have that button? I see where it says how many times a person was thanked but there is no button for me to click on that says thanks.

I don't think you can see it on your own posts, but it should be visible on others.
