Depends on what your definition of "near" is.  Cars may fly sometime in the future, but I think its a long time off.  Definitely not in lifetime.

I don't believe cars will fly in my lifetime! But maybe they will in my daughter's lifetime (she is only a year old!). And it's certainly a possibility that her children and children's children will see such a thing.
