applying to hourly jobs at home
« on: November 06, 2015, 06:16:04 am »
Right now I can only work at home. I have a writing job and some gigs occasionally. I also do a few sites such as GPT. It's not really enough income, but it's all I have for now. Considering I was just laid off, it's a decent amount. The applications have been really time consuming. I haven't received any interviews or phone calls yet. A few jobs emailed and said I wasn't a good fit, and a few said I wasn't qualified. I am wanting something that pays hourly, to gain better income.

try companies like amazon customer service some allow you to work from home as a cs rep and they send you the equipment. I use to do it for a tech company but i had to be trained at the main site first. Ill see what i can find for you and try to post later if you want to post your email we could respond that way.

My only thought is be careful where you apply - there are far too many "false" ads for jobs out there.  But good luck in your endeavor.

I don't think you will find too many work from home jobs that pay hourly.  Most of the "work from home" jobs are scams.  And taking surveys is not a job.  Why can you only work from home?  If you were laid off then you can get another job.  Right now most places are hiring for the holidays.  Would be most likely part time and temporary.

Sometimes because of circumstances you need to work from home, that may have been the reason for the loss of the last job.  After the accident my husband had, I could not leave home for a job, you don't know what the circumstances are, and you can't just assume because it worked before it will work now.    Anyway, I have been applying all over the place for seasonal work/holiday....and sometimes these can turn into permanent (fingers crossed).  But if anyone comes up with good jobs to do at home I am ready too!

You have the right attitude.  Some on here don't.  They are opinionated and jump to conclusions when they don't have all the facts...which are really none of their business.

Good luck finding something! I do ptc sites and babysit my great nephew but it really isn't enough either.  It can get really tough at times.

The phone company in my area has customer service reps that work from home. They pay an hourly rate, something like $20 an hour to start.

I've was looking for a job for 3 years after I lost my other one. Too bad I had given up my home business to depend on the job I lost. i used to make good money but working 14 hours a day between a full time job and my own clients got to me.

I haven't been able to find another job and its probably because of my age but, of course, they don't tell you that or else it's discrimination. So I'm stuck doing ptc sites and it's frustrating because it doesn't cover any bills or allow me any "luxuries."  I really can't get an outside job because of my disability.  :(
