Rate Your Experience with Amazon Customer Service

I have dealt with Amazon's customer service 3 times over the past 5 or 6 months or so.  Each time has been a cluster.  It is like they are incompetent and don't follow up with what they say they will do.  The last time, 2 days ago, I was in the middle of an online chat with a representative when she suddenly said there was an emergency in the building and she was leaving right away.  No she will get back to me later through my email or phone, no goodbye, no please log on in about an hour and she will leave our conversation/results on record, just cut the connection!  A time before that the guy's accent was so bad and he could not understand me or the issue so nothing turned out to be resolved! 
Out of 1-5, with 5 being excellent and 1 being abominable, I'm giving them a 1 at this time.  What is your experience?

Amazon's customer service is among the best out there. I absolutely swear to buy from Amazon just to have their customer service

I never had any problems with their customer service.  Also every time I had to deal with them they were always professional, courteous, and spoke perfect English.  Sorry you had a bad experience

I have contacted them a couple of times and they have always resolved my issues and have always been nice and helpful.  A lot of how much they help you depends on how you treat them. It's like with my job...there is a lot "I" personally cannot do.  But at the same time there is quite a bit I can do.  If you come in smarting off, cursing me, or demanding I do something, or start by telling me what some other place does - you will get nothing from me.  But if you are nice, polite, and respectful then if it is within my power to help you out - I will do so.

And to the OP - What part of EMERGENCY did you not get there?  Why would you expect her to explain anything?  Or take time to tell you "goodbye"  You don't even know what the emergency was.  If I am working and there is say a fire, gunshots, or a million other horrible things that can go wrong you can bet your bottom dollar I will get myself to safety and crap on the customer who wants to finish their business.

I don't ever call anyone if I can do the online chat.  That is the only way I have contacted Amazon.

I treated them just fine, thank-you!!!  And if you had read carefully, I was engaged in online chat! I usually am a very patient and courteous person.  My experience appears to be the exception, but based on the three interactions I've had thus far, I'm still rating them a "1."  I will hope that if I have to deal with their customer service in the future that it will be much more similar to the experiences described to this point.
