I remember years ago when I was growing up in Illinois.

Most kids walked to school back then. Two young girls, from the same family, were hit and killed by a car as they walked along the side of a dark road on the way to school.  School buses were not that plentiful back then, if any.

My area went to Daylight Savings time to help eliminate such a dreadful event from happening again, as much as possible.

I don't mind it at all. In the early morning, when I was driving four grandkids to school every day, I was always glad for the change.

I feel like the time changes are so unnecessary. I dont understand what's the real point of doing it.

Well, we have kids walking to school while it is still dark out. Moving it back allows for an earlier sunrise when the kids are walking to school. We then spring forward in the spring otherwise we would be having 3:30 AM sunrises where I live. I think most would rather have that extra hour of sunlight at night. The logic is there.

The extra hour is great, but that is just for one day.  Other than that, I dislike losing Daylight Saving to a great extent.  Another hour of darkness both in the evening and in the morning is the pits!  Then winter follows in a short time.  More pits!!

There's not an extra hour of darkness in the morning.  The sun will rise earlier now. Just moving an hour of sunlight from the evening to the morning.

I don't mind the fall time change because I get an extra hour of sleep before choir rehearsal.  In the spring, I'm not so fond of the time change.

The only problem is that you have to change the time on all the clocks in the home.
