Changes: Beginning a new chapter
« on: October 11, 2015, 03:40:20 pm »
Occasionally, I feel it's important to make a major change and begin a new chapter.

Lately, I've been feeling that it's time to relocate, down size my material possessions and cancel certain financial obligations so I have the freedom to save a little bit of money each month.

One thing I would choose to cancel is my internet service.  It's in my best interest to do less sitting and adopt a more physically active lifestyle.

Are you content with your life?
Are you able and willing to make changes to improve your lifestyle?
What kind of change are you ready to make?
Have a great day!

I recently went back to college in August. I needed to make a change because I was sitting at home and feeling like I was accomplishing nothing. It's gone better than expected and I think I'm on the way to a happier place. I wish you the best with the change you want to make.

I wish you the best of luck with your new chapter in life .
I definitely couldn't cancel my internet but I do limit my time online.
I don't lean torward making big changes in my life. I seem to do better making small changes one at a time. For instance I am trying to cut down my sugar/chocolate intake. Now I am down to having a little chocolate 3 days a week :pumpkin: :peace:

I applaud you.  It takes courage to leave the confines of your "normal" life and step out of the box into new adventures.   There is a lot of living to be done outside of the Internet.

I think no one said it better than Jesus when he said,"there is more happiness in giving than in receiving"I think as i have gotten older i realize that more now but still need to improve.

Its easy to see the world would be a lot better if we all applied that golden rule!!And yet its so simple!

Good for you. I have adjusted my lifestyle quite a bit. I don't go out much. I am saving for a house. Good luck to you.

I would drop my cable TV service before I would my internet service which is something we are seriously thinking about doing.  The cost keeps going up and most of the time there isn't anything worth watching on.
Have a wonderful day!

I had to give up cable. Not just because it's expensive, but I also hardly find anything worth watching on TV through cable or satellite anymore. I just need an antenna for local broadcast TV stations like the good old days when TV started. Because TV sets were so expensive in the beginning of the TV era, nobody had more than one TV set back then.

I watch the better shows and movies on DVD or blu-ray nowadays.

I would love to make some changes in my life - first of all would love to sell my house and move somewhere new but my house is in disrepair & I don't have the money right now to fix it up to sell and I would have to take too little if sold as is.... I am trying to figure out how to have a more active lifestyle by starting the process to have occupational therapy set up because I have mobility and chronic pain issues and also heart issues.  So we shall see how things go.  Good luck to you in your endeavors.

I would love to make some changes in my life, but from the looks of things I am not going to be able too. One because what ever I want to do   all involves hubby and he is one of these  people that Manana' that never comes along. I am for wanting to get it done now and then move on. He is either going to get tired of me bringing it up or will be surprised one of these days because just as soon as my arts and crafts show comes and I am finished with it I am going to start tearing up the old carpet and maybe even the wall I want taken down.  Just biding my time for a few more weeks.

Yes...I am totally in to simplifying my life. I could not get away with canceling my internet service as I spend over fifty hours a week on my home computer doing project work. I could not cancel my phone as I need to check my e-mail every other hour or so to keep up with changes on various projects that I am engaged in.  I have started getting rid of just about everything else. I got rid of two filing cabinets in my study and  completely cleaned out all the book cases in my study.  I donated four printers that I am no longer using and am planning on donating five of my computers. I have started shredding boxes of old files and have taken boxes of wires, scrap metal and aluminum to the junk yard for recycling.  I can count, on less than ten fingers, the number of material possessions that I need to keep and only one is for sentimental reasons.

Good for you, sometimes we come to a point in our life where change is necessary just to have less stress and live a more peaceful life. I wish you well as you embark on your journey.
