Global Warming - Save Trees
« on: September 28, 2015, 07:34:20 am »
"Trees are among the most prominent and critical organisms on Earth, yet we are only recently beginning to comprehend their global extent and distribution,"

A new global census of all the trees on Earth estimates that total number of trees on the planet has dropped by almost 50 percent since human civilization began. The study is billed as the most accurate inventory of Earth's tree population to date, revealing that there are 3.04 trillion trees, which is roughly equivalent to 422 trees for every person on the planet.

We've nearly halved the number of trees on the planet, and we've seen the impacts on climate and human health as a result. More effort is needed if we are to restore healthy forests worldwide.

Since when human civilization began there were hardly any people there were obviously way more trees.  Global warming is nothing but a scare tactic to be used for control of the population.  Weather changes constantly and right now there is more ice in the Antarctic than there has been since the beginning of calculating it and the polar bear population in the Arctic is way up.

Global warming is something I do not totally agree with.  Some of the idea people come up with are crazy. But the one thing I do agree with is the trees are a natural way of cleaning the air. If for every tree that is cut down another is planted would help our earth.  A lot of the new trees would never make it if not tended too but those that do would help. Those who tout the global warming  are some of the worst  one for leaving the biggest footprints. Like Obama  and others who think nothing of flying all over the world, or when going somewhere there are at least 5-10 cars following or leading the way.  It is nothing but crap . Oh well they won't ask me how I feel about it. At least the farmers and ranchers put life back into this old earth as they are growing things.

Global warming is a fact, and everybody can help by trying to plant more trees around their neighborhood.

It amaze me when they go to build a house on a lot with trees that they totally clear cut the lot and leave nothing standing,  I am not talking about small lots but 3/4 to 1 acre.  And they don't plant any trees when done.

i couldnt agree with you more.  there are so many people that just use use use and then wonder why the air is clogged with smog and the water is no longer clean.  you only get one earth its not like we can build another one so we need to start thinking about how precious our one planet is if not for us for our future children and grandchildren.

The tree population doesn't have anything to do with global warming (there's no such thing).  Mother Earth has her natural cycles and she's been doing it for THOUSANDS of years.  She will continue to do so.

I can not believe that you didn't have one hundred percent agreement on the effects of trees, or lack there of, on increased global warming. I do all that I can to minimize waste, recycle, and plant trees. I mulch my grass, drink water from a reusable container (rather than drinking out of plastic bottles and creating waste that will be around for generations), recycle aluminum-not completely green minded as I make about twelve dollars a month doing it, drive a scooter that gets one hundred miles to the gallon, turn out lights, and take quick showers. Our Christmas tree is small and comes in a pot so that we can replant it in the spring. One of the responses indicated that global warming is cyclical? That is a new one on me.

It doesn't matter because we are all moving to mars
Because cultivating mars is doable, but taking care of the planet we are already on is not...
