Were you able to watch the debates?
« on: September 17, 2015, 07:08:24 am »
I finally found someone who had service so we could watch the debates last night. Did anyone else watch and do they have any thoughts about it? It was really long -- three hours! Lots of infighting and not much cooperation.  ::) Too much division in the party. Too bad.  :(

I don't like that everyone cannot watch unless they have cable or dish, etc.

I was actually too busy last night to watch, so I was hoping to catch some highlights on YouTube. Instead, however, I found a few pages on YouTube that is airing the full debate from last night (albeit cut up into ~1 hour chunks due to YouTube's policies). See Here for part 1 of 5 from this page.

i watch the debates last night, it remind me of a school debate how they were acting, and a reality tv show. explain how well they've done in their businesses like it has something to do with all the issues we have still here in the country. i do agree on something they happen to say. and Donald trump actually showed that he doesnt really have anything policies.

I watched the debates. I thought the candidates did well, but 3 hours was too long. Also I didn't like the moderators trying to start fights between the candidates. It was like watching reality TV.

What a joke for a debate. How can someone win or lose a "debate" if only a few are chosen to speak. Carson who was #2 rarely spoke and Kasich spoke endlessly when he was #10 in the polls. First debate I ever walked away from bothering to listen to.

I agree that the moderators were only interested in trying to get the candidates to contest each other rather than putting out their ideas on how to solve this country's multiple problems.  Some got almost no time such as Huckabee waited 40 minutes before he was even called on.  CNN did a very poor job and 3 hours was too long.  The first debate by Fox was much better.

Such as?  :peace: No offense, but I don't know how we can ever change things in this country if we don't take an active interest in whomever is going to run our country. I know people are disgusted with the policies and think they can do nothing, but we need to do what we can. And we still have a voice with our vote. I do understand your frustration with the system as I feel it as well.  ::)

And I personally don't know any program on television that has as much merit as a "debate" between the candidates. Even though the debates were handled poorly (pitting one candidate against another  :dog:-fight) just to increase ratings, and was WAY too long, you can get some idea of how they think so that you can make an informed decision when the time comes.

I thought the debate went really well. I like Bernie but Hillary will always be my choice I feel she will be a good fit for President.

Did anyone else try and watch both debates, rather than just the one party you intend to vote for? It's very enlightening. I'm not convinced the two-party system is all that great.  :sad1:

I would love to hear comments on this post. I try to keep up with what's going on politically, but get kind of discouraged sometimes.  :sad1:

The Democratic debate was just a love fest and very boring.  At least the Republican debates have been interesting.
