« on: September 10, 2015, 09:07:19 am »
Which kind of tv dinners you enjoy? Certain brand you choose the most. Ever made your own tv dinners? Ever bought the reusable containers or the disposable tv dinner trays? I am interested because this is Happy TV Dinner Day!  I love tv dinners I have tried all of them lol.   :present: Have a good eating day

I rarely freeze dinners for us, but there are times I will freeze up several dinners for my father , if he is not feeling up to cooking. My hubby and I both like leftovers. Some when a meal has set overnight in the fridge it taste even better then the day I cooked as it has absorb the spices more.

I freeze future meals quite often!  I don't buy frozen TV dinners very often, though.
Have a wonderful day!

I guess I've frozen an easy-to-cook, single serving meal, but not necessarily a TV dinner... Sometimes after roasting a big bird (eg after roasting a Thanksgiving turkey) I'll make a few pot pies and freeze those. But as for a true TV dinner, I've never really liked them. They tend to be too small, too salty, and none of the flavors tasted fresh.

wow never thought about that.  I freeze dinner all the time for future use.   This idea would help with the left overs and my sons can heat up later.   Thanks for the idea.

I freeze dinners all the time as I find store purchased dinners have way too much salt. So whenever I'm making spaghetti bolognese or pies, I always make extra and freeze the rest in individual portions. If I don't know how well something will freeze, I freeze it anyway and if it doesn't work, I'll change it up for next time. This is ideal if you love to cook but live alone or hate to cook and therefore only want to do it once!

I freeze stuff often, we will eat it for a couple of days, then freeze so it will be great later when I don't have time to cook.  I had a large family and now that we are empty nesters it is hard to make smaller portions, I am getting better at it though.  We always have a big garden, so I make and freeze a lot of marinara sauce.  I will also when meat is on sell get a lot of hamburger and grown it in small portions so that I can make a meal quickly.  Sometimes when we are really broke we live out of out freezer.

Nope, I never prepared "tv" dinners. Anything that I keep in containers in the frig are usually leftovers.
