Are you close friends with your supervisor at work?

I keep work separate from my personal life. I'm cordial with my boss but not going out with them because a time may come where they have to be a boss and something could ruin your relationship.

I am good friends with my supervisor, and friendly with the department manager.
I respect both, and know that sometimes my supervisor may have to do something I don't like, or enforce a rule I do not agree with...but I still cherish her friendship.

yes!! he is amazing --he helps me so much --when i was in my wreck --he is who i called --he came to the wreck and stayed with me the whole time --i am so very lucky that he is my friend

As a supervisor I did not run, pal or party with them. With the exception of one very sweet girl who I introduced to my son and they were married 6 months later. Is, and was the best daughter-in-law a woman could have.  So sad that she lost him to cancer some years after they were married and she is after 12 years being a widow married to a wonderful man whom I call my proxy son.  She is still a daughter-in-law to us. But I also had some of the best bosses a person could have . I had a couple of wrecks  about 3 months apart and neither were my fault. But was hurt pretty bad in the first one and they were there for me all through it. And took care of me. 7 years after the wreck they were still taking care of me. I could not and was not allowed to pick up anything heavy. Miss them and of course all have retired now and a couple have passed on, how fortunate I was.

I thought I had a good relationship with my former supervisor, but when I retired she dropped me like a hot potato until she needed me to help her with something.  My grandmother passed away and I never heard anything from her and then I had surgery and again her nothing from her.  She got a promotion right before I retired and I think it went to her head and she no longer felt the need to associate with people below her.

I was a one time but at the end that really didn't work out. Bosses are bosses.

My supervisor is one of my best friends, and, it has never interfered with the job.  We both know what has to be done and just do it!

I used to have a tight relationship with my co-workers and supervisors until one person came in with her big mouth and politics and started rumors about me and brain washed basically the whole office to go against me so yeah, as I sit here not giving a flying BLEEP...I do my work, get paid and only talk business with everyone instead of small talk like we used to. I hope they are all proud of themselves!
