political telemarketers
« on: August 07, 2015, 08:35:42 am »
there is one way to make sure you don't have to be hassled or bothered by these phone calls.
call the "do not call" phone number.
it lasts for 5 years.
then, you call again and register your phone number.
I know I need to call them when I start getting those firemen or police fundraiser calls.

I am on the Do Not Call Registry but I still get  them.  Not alot, but enough to get me mad.  I have updated my number many times, but still get them.   :(

That, in principal, is sound advice but telemarketers still call.  I never answer a call from a number that I do not know and check it's source after they have hung up.  I am on the do not call list and get a call a day from a roofing or heating company. I still get calls from my self employed days...you know a company is hard up when they have to cold call someone from six to seven years ago. What I think is even worse is people knocking on my door. Our neighborhood has a strict no solicitation rule which keeps sales people somewhat at bay. This does not stop 501C groups like churches and charities. I am all for contributing to charity but do not disrespect my neighborhood by hastling me at my door.  It also allows crooks to pretend they are a charity in order to determine when you are and are not home.

it doesn't matte if you are on the do not call list or not  you still get telemarketer calls .fortunately for me I can block the calls on my home and cell phone. Besides that I don't answer any call I don't know who it is
Be grateful for what you have and you will receive more than you ever expected

I hate nuisance calls. They ae really annoying.  >:(
Unfortunately, nowadays registered our number on the Do Not Call list doesn't seem to be effective anymore. Just like many of you, I registered my number on the Do Not Call list but still getting unwanted call. Maybe you can consider a few ways to handle them here or let all unrecognized number go to voice mail like what normally do.

I've been on the Do Not Call list and still receive some calls but not as many as when I was not on the list.  We have caller id and if I don't recognize a number I don't anwer unless I'm expecting a call from someone who's not in my list.  We have voice mail so I figure if its important they can leave word.

I still receive some, and if I do not recognize a number I just don't  pick up the phone or hit reject. And even if a number is not in my phone it usually will pick up when it  is our arera code. But anything else just let it go  or like I said reject.

Actually the do not call list is forever.  And political calls are bot governed by that.  Does not apply to them.  Neither does the police or fire departments.  Not sure how the political calls are harassing you.  Just don't answer the phone.

The robo calls are not calling YOU specifically.  They are calling a number.   736-348-2191. Then 736-348-2191.  And so on.  So your number is gonna get hit.  Idk, I don't get why people get so stressed over these calls or a wrong number call.  If you don't recognize the number just don't answer.  And don't have a coronary stressing because some one called YOUR number.  Smh.
