College bound daughter meets fusion cash...
« on: August 06, 2015, 05:33:10 pm »
My daughter is headed off to college in thirteen days...I am so bummed! I am going to set her up with a few sites, a log and two investment accounts. I am going to set up a google blog account and then ask her to compete with me over the next four years. I will set up her fusion cash account and ask her to devote fifteen minutes a day to making cash on fusion. Thirty days after she has successfully visited every day I will set her up with another money making source and continue to do that for two years. I will drop her an e-mail or phone call on the last Sunday of every month with the specific intention of checking to see how her account has grown in comparison to mine.  Teaching her the value of a penny seems a little late at this stage but I was forty five when I started and have done quite well.

Congrats on having a college bound daughter and I wish her success.

Just remember that on Fusion Cash, you can only have one member per household.  It would be ok to send her a referral link when she has her own address and ISP.  I assume that she has her own computer but she needs her own ISP and address.

You can send her a referral link and she will be one of your referrals. It is a win win situation for you both.

Do not be too disappointed if she does not stick to your money making plan for her. College is a very exciting time for a young person and so is living on your own for the first time.  She will have a lot to do.

I would love to follow that and see how the to of you do.

Great plan. I hope everything works out well for both of you. I also did not learn the value of a dollar ( or a penny as you put it ) till much later in my life. I am so glad I finally did.

That's really neat.  I don't think it's ever too late to learn how to appreciate and respect money.  I hope it works very well with your daughter and I hope the both of you have fun with your challenge.   ;D

You are definitely setting your daughter up for (financial) success, Tres. I wish I had discovered FusionCash and other websites like it while I was attending college. It probably would have saved me a significant amount of money. :-(

That is an extra way to keep in touch, and get excited over things together. Congrats! Should be great fun.

This is a great, if ambitious plan.  I have tried to use my FC earnings for minor investments myself, I put it into a savings acct, and then when a minimum amount has been saved, I purchase a short-term CD, and re-invest the dividends.
The idea to challenge your daughter has merit, though college can be very challenging the first year or so between moving, classes, new friends and extra-curricular activities (sports/cheer-leading/Habitat for Humanity/SGA/etc)
