Yes this is probably true.  Like I would say that I am broke right now even though I have money in savings that is supposed to go toward my property taxes in November.  If I dip into it I am not going to have the money to pay my taxes but sometimes I do to buy groceries if I run short on grocery money for the month then I put it back when I get my check on the 3rd but then its an endless cycle of starting out short again lol but I feel blessed that we are making it.

There is a funny thing about that statement i use to hear it all the time growing up.. It is one that nobody seems to like as well.. But as you get older you find yourself using it more and more..

I have had to personally use that statement a couple of times.. No . i was not broke.. but i had the money set back for other things.. That is what i was also raised.. not to touch every single penny you have... Sometimes that works and sometimes that doesn't.. but i never go through all of my money... because usually it is set for other things.. or birthday,.. or occasions.. etc..

My dictionary says broke is "having completely run out of money".  That's how I use the term.  I've noticed other people say they're broke then eat out or buy things.  That's not broke.  Then these people who misuse the term assume other people use it the same way.     Divided by a common language.

Yes I say I am broke once in a while, it doesn't mean I am bankrupt, it just means that I don't have any extra money laying around and I don't want to dip into savings.
