I find this type of behavior annoying, as well.  I don't like seeing people on their cell phones while they're driving and lost in their cell phone conversation in public where they expect other people to be patient with the fact that they are inconsiderate.

Have a great day!

I was just reading a story about more and more restaurants are having customers put their phone on vibrant and not be at the table.  What use to take a party of 4 45 minutes to an hour is now taking 30 minutes longer because of people taking pictures of the food and even stopping the service staff to take pictures of their group.  Less turn over of tables, less money for the restaurant and the wait staff.

It is pretty rude! Some people have to be on their phone 24/7. I love my phone but don't let it become a distraction. There are just times you've got to put it away.

Some people seems to be "joined at the hip" to their phones!  I feel sorry for them!

This is extremely true. Before I was a SAHM I worked at a restaurant in the airport. This guy spent 10 minutes photographing his food then complained it was cold. I bit my tongue and got it reheated but I felt like saying "If you spent the last 15 minutes eating it instead of taking pictures it would still be hot"

What do you think of people who go up to a cash register and can't put their stupid phone down long enough to conduct the transaction at hand.  That makes me so mad.  Put the phone down or stay and home with it up your butt.  Sorry for the rant but this makes me so mad.  Cashiers should not have to deal with such stupidity.
I hate that. They act like no one else exists. It is so rude. If I am on the phone AIA will end my conversation before I am through checking out and speak to the cahsier. Or else go to the self-checkout. BMaston12

I disagree with telling me I have to put my phone on vibrate and cannot have it out at MY table.  This would probably cost a lot of business.  I do agree with not taking pictures of your food.  People are so self centered and love to brag.  Look where I am eating.  Well good for you!

Too funny!  I think that grocery stores milk the intelligence out of people (tic). It all begins at the time that you get into the parking lost and you observe people driving around for ten minutes searching for the parking spot that is closest to the store entrance (I am typically done with twenty percent of my shopping by the time they make it in). I crack up at the people that seemingly look for displays in the middle of the aisles and decide to stop their carts at that exact point making it impossible to pass (rather than parking their carts before or after the display). And then you have the people that bring full shopping carts to the checkout lanes that are reserved for fifteen items or less. I have yet to see a cashier turn one of these people which puts them at the same level of intelligence as the patron.

Ha Ha  yes i know what you mean,,,,     I do drive around twice to find a closer parking spot but only because I have a bad ankle lol  but if I don't see  one I will park where ever there is a space and hobble in the store  :)    people sometimes are just rude sometimes,,,,,   I really don't think they know what they are doing.  I'm always saying excuse me  or i'm sorry because i'm running into their cart because they have left it parked in the middle of the aisle lol   or they stand in front of the freezer ailse doors trying to make a decision on what they want to pull out ,,,,,,,,,   just let me get my stuff and you can stand there  all day   :)    i want to get in the store and get out !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I worked at a grocery store from age 16-19, and whenever someone would come up to the register on the phone, I wouldn't say a word to him/her.
I would do my job, but I'd be silent and let them carry on with the conversation because apparently it's more important than being a decent human being and giving your cashier any sort of acknowledgement.

When I was finished scanning everything, I'd stand there and wait for them to decide to pay.
I wouldn't tell them "have a nice day" or "thanks for shopping with us" or anything when we were finished...I'd just move to the next customer and greet them instead.

The cashier is not allowed to tell them to go to another lane.  Doesn't make the cashier stupid.  If he/she told a customer to go to another line they would be written up or fired.

And then they go complain on you saying you were rude.  Smh.

I guess I'm an odd person. I leave my phone at home when I go shopping.
I take a list and get what I need and when I get to the checkout, I talk to the cashier.
She is a human being, and worth my attention.
