Dumb***** in public
« on: July 07, 2015, 07:18:48 am »
What do you think of people who go up to a cash register and can't put their stupid phone down long enough to conduct the transaction at hand.  That makes me so mad.  Put the phone down or stay and home with it up your butt.  Sorry for the rant but this makes me so mad.  Cashiers should not have to deal with such stupidity.

That has happened to me more times then I want to count.  I love it when the cashier says the amount of purchase and the person continues to talk on the phone and we all stand there waiting for the jerk to hang up.  Also love at a restaurant when the server comes to a table and has to wait to take an order because some ill mannered person is on the phone!

Some people just don't have manners. I mean I like my phone but I know enough that when I'm going to be interacting with another person to put it down. And not just with a cashier but with other situations where you're going to have to be talking to someone.

I hate this too.  It's very disrespectful and sad that some people don't know that it is.  Or I guess even worse, if they know that it is, but still do it.

it seems that people can put those phones down for any thing anymore--they go off in church on sunday and trying to drive or if you are out to eat and they are on their phone its rude ! technology is great but my goodness people time and place !

I think it's just as annoying as a person getting up to the register and price matching every item they have to save 2 cents.. and using coupons as well... I mean okay.. something are worth it but every item? come on now... It's also just as annoying as going up the the register and putting half of your cart back.... This is not just frustrating for the people behind you but also for the cashier....

People out in public talking on their phone or even texting is very annoying!  They obviously have not respect for other people.  And, another thing that annoys me is when you are using your debit card and they crowd right up close to you!  I mean that is so rude!  I hang back to give the person in front of me some privacy when they're concluding their business.

The only reason why I would have my phone at hand while checking out at the register is because I have coupon apps on my phone and I make sure I have everything in order. And trust me, I watch that computer screen with all my items being rung up to make sure the cashier is ringing them up accurately and that the price matches.  ;)

Does any realize or even care that no one is interested in their business. I was standing behind someone who was explaining to the person on the other end  about prepping for her colonoscopy! Talk about TMI!!

That doesn't bother me as much as seeing someone texting and driving - think that is just as bad as drinking and driving.

I can see where you are coming from.  I do occasionally walk into a store while on the phone, but I always put it down when I get up to the counter.

don't have a smart phone.  still have an old landline; but  too see it more and more and I find it comical.  They bump into people and people now have to walk defensively not just drive.  What could be so important?  Multitasking causes accidents and mistakes ..wait a minute a call is coming in...

In one of my first jobs, I was taught that if you keep people waiting for you, you are basically telling them that your time is more important than theirs, which is insulting! I appreciate that the customer is always right, but personally, I feel a little bit of humility goes a long, long way!
