I will only buy a new cell phone when my contract with Verizon says that we can.  It use to be after 18 months, now it is every 2 years.

I keep mine for a long time.  I want to get a new one but my plan is cheap and I have unlimited everything but I have to keep my phone to keep it.  I've had my phone a little over two years.

I used to get the regular none android phones since I did not want to pay for data for another phone, we have 4 lines, but now that ATT change the way they charge data I got a new phone for my daughter and kept her old iphone 4, which died on me and husband got me a brand new iphone 5s for mother's day

I bought my smartphone used a few years ago and it still works fine. Who cares if it's Android 2.4, it still does all I want it to and I only pay $15 a month.

I actually just got a new one that was last week Thursday, I got a Galaxy G6.  I love it!!

I just had to buy a new phone as mine died.  It was out of contract for over a year, but it still worked and I didn't see the need to upgrade and get into another contract just because my plan qualified me to upgrade.
