« on: June 18, 2015, 02:36:15 pm »
Growing up i would always hear my grandmother say... where is the gold in them golden year's because i ain't seen it yet..

LOL.. just a random thought  that popped in my head when i read someone else's post on here.. Ahh i love how sometimes the smallest things can remind you of someone who has passed and make your day go a whole lot smoother and a whole lot better

 :highfive:

I do that a lot: think of something my grandma or grandpa used to say when we were growing up.  You're right, just the simpliest thing can make your day.  I think about my mom and dad a lot too and all the fun we had the last 10 years or so of their lives.  They were my best friends during those years and I'm always thinking of something one of them said that made us all laugh!

We here in the states could learn a bit from Oriental philosophy. As I have read, they cherish their elder citizens over there and treat them with the utmost respect! Not that people in the west are mean to our seniors but the golden years should be just that! Perhaps laws should be put in place to reward seniors, too many struggle in their retirement etc.

It's just a shame that by the time you get to your golden years you don't have enough money to live on or the energy to do the things you've waited all your life to do.

My Grandma used to say that too! I always thought she was a little wacky but she was just so fun!
