Good Samaritan
« on: June 18, 2015, 01:19:52 pm »
Did you hear about the guy who stopped to help someone in a car accident (who crashed because they were drunk) and HIS car ended up getting hit by a semi and now HIS wife and one out of 2 boys died too~now the drunk is charged with reckless homicide! Police recommend not stopping to help people anymore, but just call 911!

That's pretty sad and horrible news.... I probably would have done the same thing.. But i don't think i would have liked the outcome... I don't even like that guy's outcome.. My goodness the thoughts that must have been running through this guy's head...This is the type of situation that people start to belive there is no god or could not possibly be one... (i'm not trying to start a religious war here.. i'm simply saying it's the situation where it happens)

Bless this guy for his bravery he will be in my thoughts!!! I can't even imagine being in this guy's shoes...

That doesn't even make sense.  Wow.

God didn't have anything to do with this.  That is what people cannot grasp.  God gives us free will.  The guy who was drunk had free will and he used it to get drunk and drive a car.  We all make choices.  Any more it is not safe to go out of your way to help anyone.  Sad but true.  I am curious to see the outcome of the free will of the truck driver.  Was he speeding?  Was he texting or doing something to take his mind and eyes off the road?  Why did he not see the cars wrecked in front of him.  Usually if you come upon an already happened accident and then you run into it then YOU are charged not the initial person who wrecked.

That is so very sad. I heard a clip of this on the news but I wasn't really paying full attention. I had no idea that his wife and one of his kids died in a secondary crash. Do you know there are times when I find myself in a situation of opportunity, at a time when I might be able to help someone else and I always pause for a moment, what could happen to me and my kids? I shouldn't have to waste time like this, but I do as my kids are my first priority.

Penwoir, I just flat out don't trust people.  People pose as a victim or someone needing help and have someone waiting to help them rob you when you stop to offer help.  That is another reason the police caution for you to just call 911.   I don't trust anyone and I don't believe sob stories.  I actually have one of my own that will tear your heart out.  lol

You have to help someone in trouble when you can, however make sure to call the police also...
