My vacuum sealer died years ago and I can't afford another one (Food Saver). I do miss it, but I've been using those Ziploc vacuum bags and pump. They work pretty good.

I have a lot of containers I use, too, for liquids like spaghetti sauce. I always make too much on purpose and freeze the rest. I now started freezing leftoever spaghetti, rice, mashed potatoes, just about everything. Comes in handy in a pinch. I buy extra peppers and onions and slice, dice, and freeze.

I wish I could figure out how to freeze whole peeled potatoes and celery. Celery is too large a product for us to use up before it goes bad. Same with 'taters.

I either save for a second meal or save to add to soup.  Depends on the food.

I don't have a vacuum sealer, so I just put it in a viplock bag or tupperware and chuck it in the freeze or frig.

It's according to what it is. I save some things for soup or to add to recipes to change it up a little, for variety.
When I make a pot of soup or chili, I divide it up into quarters.  One fourth is for now, one fourth for freezer for later.  The other half, I share with my neighbors.
I always make too much.  :)

I too, freeze almost everything.  Sure helps when you are short on time!

My family appears to have an aversion to eating that hasn't been made with in the last five minutes-leftovers are totally out of the question.  That leaves the money pincher, now garbage disposal person, to take over. Nothing goes to waste as  re prepare it for my lunches. There are certain things that I do not eat that my family has specifically found an initial need for like Kale, muffins, and a cornucopia of junk food. They also like to leave food, milk and garbage  sitting out until it gets rotten. My family also seems predisposed to only drinking half of a water bottle an then leaving it sitting out for a few weeks so that someone else (me) can pick it up and dispose of it properly.  We have dual countertops in the kid's bathrooms that are completely cluttered and my wife uses 75% of our counter space and then encroaches on te last 25%.I live in a world of pigs!

I try to make a crock pot meal that will go two days although we usually eat it the very next day.  We don't save it for future days usually as my son works at night and so he has to eat before he goes to work.  Let me put it this way it is a daily struggle.  Too much cooking, too much trying to figure out food.

It depends on what I make. I made a large meatloaf Sat.  Hubby like meatloaf sandwich's. We will have left overs tonight and I always make up a couple of plates and freeze them for my dad and when we go out to the place  he has meals that he does not have to cook. Food around here does not go to waste.

I usually have enough for the next day's dinner, so I eat the leftovers then.

I bring it to work for lunch or I eat it the next day. I never let them go to waste.
