Wow, were you fasting?

It's definitely not a good idea, especially if you have to go to work. The brain need food to function and the body needs the energy, to be to able offer mobility.

When I had the flu I went four days only drinking water and juices. You have to be careful skipping meals as it could create serious health issues

I don't know the circumstances, but I definitely wouldn't even try doing such an experiment for for a couple days let alone a whole week due to health consequences. As to my tolerance level, I think I would probably have problems with just after a day. I have little willpower.

Same here. Couldn't make it past one day. When I've been sick that's another story.

I think it depends on your age: 7 to 10 days. Water is a different issue: Probably 4 or 5 days.

I think after a certain amount of time without food your body starts to shut down. With your body shutting down you probably would be really crabby and really exausted as your body needs food and water to survive.  Once you start eating again after going long periods of time without food you need to be careful with how you react around food because you could kill yourself overeating.

You would be suprised what the body can do but under no circumstances should you ever attempt to starve yourself or dehydrate yourself for no specific reason. If you are sick/ just had surgery and have specific instructions on what you can and can not eat i can understand. If you are dieting starvation is not the answer and will not result in you losing weight as you will become hungry and again probably overeat which coiuld result in a death.

When I was sick I went a few days without eating but if I'm feeling ok I can't go a day without eating, plus I have to eat every 4-6hrs unless I'm sleeping or my blood sugar will drop.

My answer and comments are based on survivorship. Let us say "you get lost in the bush". How long can you survive with no water or food? It is recommended that you "always carry water and survival health bars in your backpack".

When people stop eating they are at risk of having their thyroid slow down so when they begin to eat again.....

they might find that they gain weight easily because their metabolism is functioning slower, as in, hypothyroidism.
Have a great day!
