I think you can't judge a book by its' cover.
Tattoos don't really tell you what kind of person someone is-for that, you have to get to know them.

Tattoos don't bother me like that, even though I would never get one. If a server had some, I wouldn't treat them any less as long as I get great service.

If a server had tattoos, it wouldn't bother me at all. All that matters to me is that the service and the food is great.

Quote from: Huffington Post
"Cooking is an art and tattoos are another form of art," says the chef-owner of Chicago's acclaimed Girl and the Goat restaurant, showing off the delicate drawing on the inside of her wrist [of a fish tattoo]. Roll up her pants and a pea tendril struggles up her calf, a tiny plant becoming strong. A bright green gecko sits on one hip. A dolphin resides somewhere unshowable. And across her back, the piece de resistance – a blossoming basil plant encircled by cartoonish flying pigs.

More and more chefs and people in the food industry are showing off tattoos, like this chef in the Huffington Post article. I agree with the sentiment of this chef; tattoos are an artistic form, much like cooking. I see nothing wrong with a server or a chef to have a tattoo. In fact were I to see a chef with a tat, I'd be expecting the food to not only taste good, but the plating of the food to be exceptional as well.

I think the people that sever me food that have tattoos all over it make not want eat their because it looks bad to me.how a bout u.
It seems like everyone wants to covered with ink now. I don't get it either. But not much I can do to change that. I used to think it was just young people. But more and more people 50 and older are getting multiple tattoos. Some places do have dress codes against letting them be shown. BMaston12

Tattoos, a a ton of piercings, neon hair, etc wouldn't bother me.  If the restaurant isn't clean or their employees have obvious low standards of personal hygiene (B.O., filthy/wrinkled clothes, dirty fingernails, greasy hair), I'm walking out.

As long as they were clean I would be ok with it.

I was thinking about this thread the other day.  A guy I know who obviously has mental issues posts absolutely everything on facebook.  No, I am not friends with him on facebook.  Every little complaint about everyone in the world.  Anyway, he was at a restaurant eating the other day and was posting about the "nasty server" that kept walking by his table.  You haven't seen nasty until the person finds out you were talking about them and posting about them online.  I would just get up and walk out because you are not going to want to eat the food.

As far as the tattoos, I personally would never get one, but do not look down on someone else for having them.  Most businesses make employees cover them up, which is also fine.  Unless the tat was offensive I don't guess it would matter if they carried my food to my table with a tattoo on their arm.

I've about gotten use to tattoos.  They seem to be very prevalent in the world today.  As long as they aren't nasty looking, it doesn't bother me.
Have a wonderful day!

Tattoos are just ink. Ink!  ::)

The people that have them have their reasons for them and the reasons are sometimes quite fascinating.  8)

I know some really cool people who have ink.  What bearing should that have on their serving food?  :peace:

I don't like tattoos, never liked them, never had one and never will.  But I would not be offended if my server had tattoos.  It's the individual person that is either kind, friendly, personable or offensive, not what they are wearing.

My husband and I were watching a cooking show some years ago.  The contestant who won was a young guy with not one but both arms loaded with tattoos.  I remember being a little bit turned off by that.  But then again, maybe it was the guy, himself that I was not too fond of and not the "artwork."
