I would look into a new car. But you can go to CarMax and look online. I am looking right now at the Ford Focus and also at the VW Passat. I like both of those cars and they are reasonably priced.

Sounds like it is time to trade it it.  I would love to get a new vehicle, but right now I can't afford the payments.  My car is 10 years old this year, but still runs good and doesn't cost a lot in repairs.

I would definitely get a new car with so many problems and cost of your old car.

You may want to consider Hertz used car sales if you're looking at getting a used car. If you want a brand new car, make sure you do your research first. Don't just look at reliability ratings but look at the cost of repairs.

Some foreign cars cost and arm and a leg for simple maintenance.

When you trade in your car for a new car treat it as a separate transaction. The buying of the new car is a separate transaction from the trade-in.

Dealership are notorious for giving people literally nothing for their trade-in because the muddle the transactions into one convoluted one and you really don't know what your'e actually getting for your trade in.

Find out what your car is actually worth before setting foot in a dealership.

We just spent another $400.00 on our old car. It is a 1995
Windstar.  that's it. we are going to have to get another car for traveling. And hubby is just going to have to drive the old one to school and back are fishing trips and leave the family car (when we get it) at home. I have too many doctor visits to have to depend on the Windstar any more. Besides I really hate riding in the back seat. But  I put dad in the front because both men are too hard of hearing to be visiting  when one is in the back and one in the front. Also I am dang tired of not having my own car anymore.  It cost too much to keep running around in the diesel truck.

Yeah, that's the problem with older cars. Once you start shelling out more than the car is actually worth, you have to question whether you should be spending the money on that car or whether you should be putting the money into something newer. We ourselves have a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder and we are also starting to spend more on it than it's worth. We have only kept it this long because my husband didn't want to part with it.

If you can afford a new car you should probably get one but bear in mind a new car depreciates a bunch the minute you drive it off the lot so you might want to consider a used car.  That's what I'm going to do as both of my cars are over 15 years old.
