I have been pulled over for speeding more times than I like to remember. I have always been polite and respectful. I admit to my wrong doing. I have only had a less than desirable encounter twice and both times I had shown extremely bad judgement. I pay my fines immediately, I treat the police with respect and as how I would want to be treated, I don't lie about the situation, I do not have a criminal record, I don't steal, I don't resist arrest and I don't (generally) give the police a reason to pull me over. If a police officer were to tell me to halt/stop and put my hands over my head I would do so. I would not flee from the police or come at them aggressively. The police are just trying to do their job (and a poorly paid one at that) and they are putting their lives in harm's way for the safety of the public. Their hours are horrible, they have the highest rate of divorce, the pay is low, they are risking their lives and putting up with instances of disrespect that you or I would not encounter on our jobs. I think that you have nothing to be afraid of if you follow the rules.
