I have no idea what you're referring to.  I don't watch the news or give energy to all the "bad" things they sensationalize.   :-X

I don't have a car right now, but I never liked being pulled over.  I only experienced such a thing a few times and I never feared for my life.  :-[

I was pulled over once when I was about 8 months pregnant and that cop was so rude to me that he made me cry!  He only pulled me over to question why I had a temp. dealer tag on my car.  I had actually just driven it home for lunch from our car lot.  He didn't like that I don't guess because he was really rude.

I have never had a rude cop pull me over or question me. Although 20 years a go I had a couple pull me over and come up to me and tell me trick or treat. They just happen to have customers of mine at a restaurant I worked at.   actually that they thought there was a car following me and they wanted it to go by so they could check them out as it was midnight and I was coming home from work. They made sure I got home safely.  If most people  would just pull over and do what the cops say things would go alright. But you get smart with one and things can and will go wrong.

I think some cops are abusing their powers and don't care how they act!!  They should be held accountable for their actions.

I honestly don't trust them anymore. One night I was driving and a police pulled me over. The first thing I did was put my hands up. (my brake light was out, he just told me to get it fixed)

Me too!  I have only seen them rude on TV!  I pay them no attention/ they don't make me nervous, but, every encounter I have had with an officer has been a polite one!

I have been pulled over for speeding more times than I like to remember.  I have always been polite and respectful. I admit to my wrong doing.  I have only had a less than desirable encounter twice and both times I had shown extremely bad judgement. I pay my fines immediately, I treat the police with respect and as how I would want to be treated, I don't lie about the situation, I do not have a criminal record, I don't steal, I don't resist arrest and I don't (generally) give the police a reason to pull me over.  If a police officer were to tell me to halt/stop and put my hands over my head I would do so. I would not flee from the police or come at them aggressively. The police are just trying to do their job (and a poorly paid one at that) and they are putting their lives in harm's way for the safety of the public. Their hours are horrible, they have the highest rate of divorce, the pay is low, they are risking their lives and putting up with instances of disrespect that you or I would not encounter on our jobs.  I think that you have nothing to be afraid of if you follow the rules.

I've been pulled over several times driving not just in my state but a few others, especially when I was younger.  (I never was a very great driver....)

Except for one very rude state trooper on the interstate that lied when I asked him a question (and he KNEW he lied, so he got mad & got an attitude with me),  the police were all very polite and exceptionally nice.  (Even with the rude state trooper, I never felt "in danger".)

The only time I'm scared to be pulled over, is when I have been doing something illegal (e.g. speeding) and don't want a ticket. Am I afraid of being killed by cop? Really???? No. And no one should be.

I think the majority of cops are very good at their job unfotunately it only takes a few bad apples to make people mistust cops . However changes definately need to be made in certain parts of country to build trust with the public, :rainbow: :rainbow: :rose:
