helpful neighbors
« on: April 04, 2015, 06:34:32 am »
I needed some extra help recently after a health problem. Two of my neighbors came to help get my meals for me. Another helped me open a box that was delivered. Another will do my laundry for me until next week. We'll see how I heal. It's nice to be a part of community.

Neighbors can be life savers. When my husband was dying of cancer, mine were a big help. There were times I had to call them for help with him. They were always there. After he died, She and I corresponded until I sold my home. Reminds me that I should proabably call her and chat. NIce to have them around when you need them. BMaston12

We have really sweet neighbors, they are mostly widows who are older than us. My husband helps them with their yards and stuff

It's good to have nice neighbors.  Unfortunately I don't have such neighbors.

You are lucky to have such good neighbors.  I live out in the country and don't have any close neighbors.

it's wonderful to have "neighbors" who are there for you when you need them.  Hopefully, you will recover fullly and be in a position to "give back" when and if it is ever needed!

Wow that is amazing I just never had neighbors like that - you could say it was our fault but we always tried to be nice to people but it just seems like we always had weird or mean neighbors.  Now we always kind of stuck to ourselves but we were never mean to people.  Well I am happy you have the help it is hard after surgery if you dont have someone to help you.  Hope you heal quickly as well.   :rose:

It's great to have friendly neighbors.  I think it's rare now a days.   I remember growing up in a neighborhood where everyone watched out for each other.    My neighborhood isn't like that seems like everyone wants to stay to themselves.  I've tried when new folks move in to welcome them and introduce myself.  Hasn't worked out so well.   We do all wave to one another but that's about it.    I hope those of you that live in a friendly neighborhood appreciate it.

You are blessed to have such great neighbors. My neighbors and I don't have that kind of relationship. It is not because they are bad or anything negative but we don't really bond or have any get together activities so we get to know and trust each other. I would like to have that healthy relationship with them. But don't know how to start. BTW hope you get well soon.

Yes, it is good when you have helpful neighbors, I know in our development some will shovel snow for those who cannot and I think that is really a kind thing to do, neighbors in my building are pretty helpful and friendly.

You are very lucky to have neighbors like that.  When I was young and living at home, we had a neighborhood like that.  Everyone knew everyone and always helped each other out.  I don't really know my neighbors other than to wave, we all have 1 1/2 to 2 acres so we are not that close in distance to get to really know each other.

We have the best neighbors in the world.  We have known them for many years, and we can always count on them.  We try to help each other as often as possible.  Bless them.
