Have you heard this
« on: March 24, 2015, 11:36:51 am »
I read an article on yahoo and I think it was in California (if you can believe that) but it was a state in the US and one of the people in a government office is trying to get it on the ballot to make it legal to "kill gay people".  The law would have one year to kill them after they were outted and if they were still alive then any citizen would legally have the right to kill them preferably by shooting them in the head.  But if you didn't want to wait a year and you find a gay person you could shoot them and kill them and be justified.  They have to get so many signatures before it can be put on a ballot.

I honestly had to read the article twice and parts of it more than that because I could not wrap my mind around it.

You do not have to agree with a life style of someone else but trying to get a law passed saying you can kill someone because you do not agree with how they live?  Seriously???

The end of the article did say it would most likely never get as far as going on a ballot.  Idk.  I just could not believe it got as far as even being discussed or on a paper to get signatures.

Can't say that I have read anything even remotely close to that at all.  Do you remember which website you read this article on?  There are a few satire websites out there that really throw people off making them believe the articles are real, although something like this isn't even funny.  I will say there's a lot of sick people in the country today.

I have to believe its one of the websites BlackSheepNY is talking about because I can't really believe anyone would be stupid enough to try to get something so crazy on a ballot.  Its sure ok to not believe in homosexuality but proposing legalizing killing anyone is too far out there for even the most craziest ppl.

It was on yahoo.  I don't remember what site it went to.  I never thought about the article being a joke to get people upset.  Like I said, I had to re-read it to make sure I read it correctly.

lol.  Okay, so at least I am not crazy.  No, I don't agree with that life style either.  But I also don't agree with finding out or assuming someone is gay and then saying oh I have a right to kill you.  All I could say after reading that was WOW.

Bretay said it was on lifestyle.  I did not pay attention to where it was.  It was most likely a tabloid type thing.  I never thought of that.

The Bible makes it clear that God designed sex to be engaged in only between a male and a female and only within the arrangement of marriage. (Genesis 1:27, 28; Leviticus 18:22; Proverbs 5:18, 19) When the Bible condemns fornication, it is referring to both homosexual and heterosexual conduct. *—Galatians 5:19-21.

If someone asks: “What’s your view of homosexuality?”

You might reply: “I don’t hate homosexuals, but I can’t approve of their conduct.”

✔ Remember: If you’re guided by the Bible’s moral code, then that is your lifestyle choice, and you have a right to it. (Joshua 24:15) Don’t feel ashamed of your view.—Psalm 119:46.

Shouldn’t Christians treat all people with respect, regardless of their sexual orientation?
Absolutely. The Bible says: “Honor men of all sorts” or, as Today’s English Version renders it, “Respect everyone.” (1 Peter 2:17) Therefore, Christians are not homophobic. They show kindness to all people, including those who are gay.—Matthew 7:12.

If someone asks: “Doesn’t your view of homosexuality encourage prejudice against gays?”

You might reply: “Not at all. I reject homosexual conduct, not people.”

✔ You could add: “To illustrate it, I also choose not to smoke. In fact, I find the very idea of it repugnant. But suppose you’re a smoker and you feel differently. I wouldn’t be prejudiced against you for your view, just as I’m sure you wouldn’t be prejudiced against me for my view—am I right? The same principle applies to our differing views of homosexuality.”

I think that answers the question if killing gays is right by man.

Really? I have not heard the news, but I can't imagine if people turning all gay, in the future do we still have any descendants? Right now we don't think about it because there are too many people in the world anyway.

I have not heard this.  How disturbing!  I don't agree with homosexuality, but killing people is murder and it is preposterous to me that anyone can even suggest that.

But, Hitler was able to get people to agree that Jews should be eliminated.

I think that answers the question if killing gays is right by man.

No one asked if it was a "right" action.  I asked if anyone had HEARD about it.  I know what the Bible says about homosexuality.  And NO it is not right for any man to assume something about someone else and then say "Oh I can kill you for that".

If we were to adopt this policy then where does it end?  Oh well let's kill all the Christians, the blacks, the hispanics, the whites, and any other group.

I believe homosexuality is wrong.  I don't judge anyone for being gay.  I am friends with a couple of people at work who are openly gay.  They don't ask me for my opinion. lol.

At any rate, I just thought the article was completely absurd!

I hadn't heard about that but it's truly disturbing. I have some friends who are gay and it would crush me if something like that happened to them. Not everyone agrees with homosexuality but this is really taking it to the extreme. Obviously it's not clicking with this person that murder is pretty horrible.
