are getting expensive due to the cost of leather and manufacturing. I generally buy shoes every 3 or 5 years.
I don't need a dozen or more  pairs - just two or three good quality pairs.

Recently, a pair of shoes weren't what I expected, so I gave them to charity. we have a drop box in our building for food and clothing items.

I can't believe that a pair of sketchers cost over $60. I have to get something with arch support now. I am just wasting my money on a pair of cheap shoes. They hurt my feet too much to even wear them. But I find it really appalling that to get a decent pair of shoes cost almost $100. WHY. BMaston12

I agree that shoes are getting more and more expensive.  I buy quality brands so I don't need to replace them as often.  Berkenstock is my favorite.

I should be ashamed to admit this but I got a pair of shoes for Christmas 10 years ago and I'm still wearing them! The insoles need renewing but the soles and uppers are still like new and I wear them every day in fall and winter.

In the summer, I would wear my crocs (not the klutzy looking ones but a pair that looks like regular flats). The soles are worn so bad that there's no grip on them anymore and they stretched out so they're flopping on my feet. Need a new pair.

Son gave me 2 new pair of dress shoes this Christmas, like a brushed suede in black and grey, but they're made in China and the threads that hold the uppers and sole are already coming out. i can see they won't even last a year?

Too bad America doesn't have many shoe manufacturers anymore. They made quality products. There were 10 just in my area (4 small towns). The Walk-In was the best and all my family worked there during their life until the Chinese bought it and shut it down. So sad.

I haven't bought any new shoes for a long time. I need to. I may use some of the money I make here to get me some new shoes.

I went shoe shopping last weekend.  Nothing better than a worn out pair of comfy shoes so I don't shop for myself very often.  Actually found 2 pair I liked but only bought one of them.  My daughter got 2 pairs  though.

Agree shoes are expensive especially the brand name one. I use shoe carefully in order to change it in 3 or 4 years.

I look for comfort, but also something at a reasonable price. I don't buy shoes all the time, but I am willing to splurge a little once in a while if I really like the look and feel of a shoe. I also have to be open moreso for my life partner who likes shoes.

I will admit I have WAY too many pairs. But I don't pay a whole lot of money for them, so I guess it's kind of justified! LOL

I like shoes and don't mind paying more for them, although I still look for sales. Now when it comes to clothes, price matters to me more so I look for bargains.
