Winter and the Roads

I live in Michigan.  February was horribly cold here.  It seems like our already poor roads are getting worse and they are buckling more than usual.  I'm sure that means they will be in even worse shape than usual when Spring rolls around.  Honestly, Michigan seems to have some of the worse roads around for some years now, especially Genesee County (for those familiar).  If you have hard winters, how are your roads?

Our roads in PA are probably like yours, we have potholes due to the weather.  As I write this the snow has stopped (about 2- 3 inches), but it is now sleeting.

In MD, the pot holes have just expanded because of all the snow this year; I am taking my car in for an alingment something I rarely have to do if ever, from having hit so many pot holes even though I try to avoid at this point it is just difficult to do.

It was real bad here but we got pretty lucky.  The cold fronts and the rain have dodged each other...at least to this point.  We just aren't prepared to take care of the roads here in SC.
