A winter Sunny Day
« on: February 18, 2015, 10:03:44 am »
Finally today the sun was bright and shine. The weather was cool; not cold. The snow started to melt. Is this the sign of Spring?

Spring is a long way from here.  High of 6 tomorrow with a low of minus 12 to minus 17 and Friday is not much better.  Saturday will get above freezing but then cold comes again.  Feb. is much worse than Jan. was in southwestern Ohio.

i love it when there's snow on the ground and the sun is out; the snow glimmers in the sunlight and it's just so pretty!

I sure hope it is the sign of spring but we have single digit temps here and maybe below digit highs here coming soon, but the days are getting longer and soon the warming trend will start.

The sun is shinning outside and looks like a very nice day until you go outside. It is not so nice then. the wind has a nip in it. We had a snow a couple of days ago and it is all melted, but it is not warm out there.

Here in NJ it is sunny and a little warmer but still cold. Still I tell myself that spring is around the corner.

Yes, sunny spring afternoons, but cold winter nights and mornings.

Today the sun is out and it looks like a nice day, until you see all the snow.  Then you open your door and the cold hits you in the face (it's a chilly 9)!

The recent sunny days belies the cold weather. I learned that the hard way when I took my vehicle outside to briefly clean it. I can only hope that the sun becomes intense enough to melt the majority of the snow in and around my driveway. That is the closest to a melter that I am going to get, unfortunately. :-(

I love winter sunny days. That's my favorite type of weather during winter season.

I think having sun out at least warms up a cold day better.  Plus looks nicer.

I hear ya! It is still below freezing at night time but during the day, we are getting up to 50 degrees. I have decided to plant my veggie seeds early this year although they will admittedly be indoors for many weeks to come. I planted some seeds on the 7th February and two of them have already germinated. I decided to plant them earlier this year because for the last couple of years I've grown many big tomatoes but the season has  been too short for them to actually ripen them on the vine. This year I'm hoping for fully ripened tomatoes.
