Their screens are too small for this old bird, so I got an Acer 21 1/2" All In One Touch Screen with Android 4.0 and I have been having a blast playing Fruit Ninja. I got it on sale for $175 with free shipping.

I'm a big fan of the iPad but that's just me. I know they can be expensive but ou can always look for refurbished ones too! Good luck!

I'm not a Apple fan but my niece is around six just turned seven and she has a Ipadmini she dropped it,stepped on it on the sofa,got it dirty and it still shocks me that it is still working fine and all.

My son was required to get an IPad for school (he goes to a private school).  When the kids were at elementary school they were working on Apple's Macs which had been donated to the school. I think Apple tries to get kids hooked on their computer systems so that there will be a larger demand for them in the generation to come. I countered this assault by getting each kid a laptop with a window's based system. My son, and wife, both have kindles which my son says has the same capacity and is considerably less expensive. My wife has had some difficulties interfacing with our wireless modem. Our neighbor, a computer guru, also had a little difficulty getting his kindle synced with his wi-fi.

I love my iPad, but Samsung Galaxy tablets are cheaper and she might like it.
