The Metabolism Miracle
« on: February 03, 2015, 10:05:35 am »
The Metabolism Miracle is a book that suggests that some people don't need to count calories to lose weight.  They might need to count carbs, instead.  It's for people who experience metabolic syndrome; which is when, we spike our blood sugar whenever it drops.

If you've failed when you try a typical diet (like Weight Watchers) or others where you cut back on calories....

You might be dealing with something called Metabolism B.

I was always and forever looking for a diet where I could get results and feel well enough to survive the diet.  I didn't find one until I bumped into the Metabolism B diet.

Basically, I consume protein and vegetables and avoid sugar and fructose for the first 8 weeks.

What diet and/or food program works well for you?

That's interesting.  I wonder which area I fit into - I suspect the carbohydrate counting  :confused1:

Sounds more like a "fad" diet than a real sound way to lose weight

We eat healthy food and less portion is working for us now. Also avoid sweet and  fatty food.

Sounds interesting! Does it works for both men and women or is this strictly for women? So far I have some family members who are using the weight watchers ad some on the Fib I forgot the correct name for it but they wear something on their wrist that calculates how many calories they are burning on a daily basis.

I have found that dieting is so much more difficult if you do not incorporate an exercise regimen into the plans. Just bicycling on a stationary bike for twenty four minutes per day can consume a days worth of calories and help firm up parts that may be causing us to think about dieting to begin with.  If you start with a pear shaped body and do nothing but diet you will still have a pear shaped body-just a smaller version.  Incorporating exercise will help burn the calories and fat faster as well as isolate, shrink and tone the areas that are generally causing the diet concern to begin with. Simply walking up the stairs instead of taking the elevator or parking further from the office/store and walking in or walking at a brisker rate are all ways in which to get one's metabolism going.

I agree, I cannot find a diet program that I like, I have decided to just eat healthier, do smaller portions, we have  reduce Sugar consumption and do some type of exercise at home, thru videos, in the morning depending on the time anywhere between 15 to 30 minutes and I have lost about 20 pounds and counting.  My family have endorse the food as well, my husband watches the sugar on drinks for his own consumption, my 21 years old daughter really eats healthy and goes to gym 4 to 5 days a week, my 16 years old plays sports, drinks plenty of water and is very conscious on what to eat.

We are all happier for it without really following any diet plan, just portion control and healthier foods.

No matter who you are if you cut out all the carbs and sweets and just eat mostly proteins and fruits and vegetables you will loose weight.  But you body needs some carbs.  It's a combo of everything.  Eat less, exercise more and you will loose weight.  But it is not an over night thing.  It takes time to loose weight.  Just like you don't gain 30 pounds of fat over night you will not loose it over night either.

I haven't really found one.But it is so hard for me to stick to a diet. I have cut back on some carbs. But it is really hard for me to stay away from the chips. working and eating in the half hour  allotted makes it easier to not be hungry. I hope that I will start shedding the pounds. I am getting my excersise. BMaston12
