I met someone who built his own computer from scratch. He has no name brand on it. mmm- how clever.

I think it would be fascinating to build my own computer and be familiar with every part of the hardware.  If you can build it....you can also repair it....

Right?

Seems very empowering to me.   :heart:
Have a great day!

I don't know about you but I'm really fascinated by the whole house renovation thing. I watch programs on tv which are all about tiling, fitting hardwood floors, fitting new kitchen cabinets and changing faucets. I would love to have the courage to try some of these things myself but I sometimes feel a little bit overwhelmed and don't know where to start. I'm a creative person so technically I should be able to have a go but I find myself chickening out and putting it off until another time. Has anyone else had a go at tiling for instance?

That seems so unrealistic, Some people are very smart though so its not that unbelievable. Good for him i hope he can go somewhere with it.

That's great he built his own computer, I definitely couldn't do it. Maybe we will see it out on the market one day!

Building your own computer is actually the very best way to go.  It's not hard and you get to put all the hardware YOU want in it.  You choose the motherboard, the sound card, the video card, etc.  It's also your choice how much you want to spend on those things.  What I like best about build-your-own is that you don't get all the JUNK that Dell or Hewlett-Packard puts on your machines that just eat up memory running in the background.

Apparently it can be done especially if you know anything about computers.

There is a site called lifehacker that shows you how to build a computer, step by step.

<http://lifehacker.com/5828747/how-to-build-a-computer-from-scratch-the-complete-guide>

It sounds interesting, and not really hard at all.

I'm all for DIY. Fortunately, i have friends and family that's willing to help and teach. My friend built my computer..just too bad I'm not too technically advanced in case something goes wrong.

My son-in-law also built a computer from scratch.  We always have someone to go to with computer questions and problems.
