Revoked Survey Payments
« on: February 01, 2015, 11:30:43 am »
Well, I just received notice from Fusion that one of the surveys I completed has decided to revoke payment.  This is the THIRD time in about six months.  Not terrible odds, but certainly convenient for the surveyors.  Right after I cashed in...both times.  Since we all are providing our valuable time and energy giving thoughtful responses (and I think most of us are), I am very skeptical that these surveys HAVE our opinions and don't have to pay anything...on what seems like a whim.

Now, I am sure that sometimes there are plausible reasons where people have decided to give any old answer and take about 7 or 8 minutes to complete a 25 minute survey and that stands out like a sore thumb.  But to earn pennies and surveyors decide to revoke payments on surveys where thoughtful, honest answers are provided really GRINDS me.  Not only that, but it seems the surveys don't have to provide us with the reason it is being revoked!  I think that if a survey has been COMPLETED and there is no obvious signs of being fradulent, there ought to be a small fee for your time and effort...maybe 5-10 cents.  Most of these brands who want opinion surveys can certainly afford it!  It seems like TAKE, but don't give anything BACK in some cases...on a whim.

Although a very small scale, these instances are one of the reasons unions were formed...and I'm not necessarily a big union supporter.  The survey companies, and even more the brands behind them, need to realize that this kind of treatment is the underlying cause of why people organized unions. Unfair treatment!  It's time to value one of their customers...US!!!!

I'll agree with you on one thing.  I think they should provide a reason why they've revoked payment so you can at least contest it.  Since FC can't really do too much about revocations or people truly completing surveys and then not getting credit for them, these survey companies really need to have some kind of contact information that we don't have to HUNT DOWN so we can send them an email about it.  It's when you can't find that info or they don't answer your emails is when I feel there's some shady dealings going on.

It has happened to me to. It is frustrating but what can we do? The only way for it to stop is if you avoid the surveys but that is the bulk of a lot of people's earnings.

ok lets not do the fun beverages then. well today(and I have animals) i did not get to do the animal study but they switched me to a cereal study and I got credited for it!  I was amazed that I got credit for cereal!  you know, instead of not getting credit for surveys because you are 60, you should get to do all of them for your life experience is valuable.

This has happened to me a couple of times all the years that I have been on Fusion Cash. Actually, it happened three times but one time, it was a mistake and I got my money back plus an extra dollar in my account for the mistake.

I believe that you can open a support ticket and ask for more information if you feel that you did the survey correctly and appropriately. It might not help but then again, it might. When this happens, I would like more information about why my payment was revoked and be able to respond.

I am on a lot of sites similar to Fusion Cash and this sort of thing happens on all my sites. It is not that payment is revoked but I never get credit to begin with or there is a glitch on the last page and I do not get my payment.

This recently happened to me on another site that I have been with for several years and cashed out many times. I did a 40 minute survey for $3.00. I finished the entire survey, even the demos, and came to a page where you evaluate the survey which I have done many times. I did and submitted and there was a glitch. I was taken to a page different than the one I should have been taken to. I never got my $3 for this 40 minute survey

I did contact customer service and they told me that they audit their site regularly and to get back to them if I do not get credit within 6 to 8 weeks. Then, they sort of chided me about cookies, etc. Since then, I have done several other surveys for this site without any problem and was able to cash out.

I plan to get back with customer support if I do not get credit for my $3.00, 40 minute survey but I do not believe that I will ever get my money. There are, unfortunately, problems with surveys on all the sites. Fortunately, most of the time, everything goes well and I do get paid.

I've had 3 surveys denied in the last 9 months shown on my account page but it's been less than 10 since joining in 2011. It's not something that happens often. The $2.70 I lost in the last 9 months doesn't compare to the over $500 I earned

The site does more than most by providing the disqualification bonus. I'm a member of several other sites that just enter you into a sweepstakes. It's not exactly profitable for a site to keep giving us extra money for the attempt if they're not going to get paid for a completed survey either.

It''s NOT the site that should pay.  It's either the survey company, or perhaps the brand that has commissioned the survey.  Usually there is plenty of money associated with these brands.  Perhaps the brand and the surveyor should partner in a contract to offer a small amount of remuneration for COMPLETED surveys.  I don't mean a penny, either.

I already stated that it hasn't happened often.  If it would, I would definitely not be considering participating on these sites.
However, deciding to revoke payment on a whim, without any kind of consideration or providing a reason...for me...leaves me feeling like my time and energy are worth nothing.  We are already making pennies on the dollar for a fair amount of time exerted.

It's not whimsical or without a reason.  But survey companies keep their anti fraud methodologies secret, because providing a detailed reason for rejection could potentially help someone intent on defrauding surveys to refine their methods.  Keep in mind as well that a survey reject is money out of FC's pocket as well.  We take neither pleasure nor profit in passing them on.

We rarely get a particular reason for survey revokes.  They'll fall into one of these categories:

- They detected inconsistent answers (sometimes a question is re-worded and presented to you later on, to check if you're paying close attention)

- They measured the time it took you to complete the survey, and because it was among the fastest, they presume that you did not give it your full attention

- They have rejected your survey credits at some point in the past

- You completed this survey (perhaps unwittingly or by another name) through another website or service and thus your credit here was considered duplicate and invalid

- Or, for some other reason, they had to throw out your responses to maintain the integrity of their research.

I am not blaming Fusion.  I also know the methodology behind performing research as it was one of the classes I had to take to get my Bachelor degree.  However, I will stand behind what I stated previously...to receive no incentive for performing work lessens motivation to perform!!!  It's really that simple, in a nutshell.  It's a basic tenet of Social/Business Psychology.

After reading the reasons why they might revoke payment, I understand now why they may do that.  I have noticed sometimes in the survey it will ask to you pick a particular answer.  If you don't answer that way I am sure it looks like you are not really reading the survey and so the results would not be accurate.
